GR Sports Bars Where You Can Watch Big 10 Kickoff Weekend
The wait is over it's the Big 10 Kickoff Weekend - finally! And the first game of the Big 10 Season is actually Friday night at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisc. with the Illinois Fighting Illini vs. (14) Wisconsin Badgers on BTN (Big 10 Network). And good news for Wisconsin fans - they have won the last 24 home openers. Y
ou'll also notice that Illinois will be supporting the Black Lives Matter movement with a black "I" on their helmets.
Sorry Michigan and Michigan State Fans - Ohio State is the favorite to win the Big 10 in this year's shortened season. Followed by Penn State and Wisconsin.
The rest of the games on tap for Saturday 10/24 in order of times:
12:00N RUTGERS @ MICHIGAN STATE - BTN
12:00N NEBRASKA @ OHIO STATE - FOX17
3:30P PENN STATE @ INDIANA - FOX SPORTS
3:30P IOWA @ PURDUE - FOX 17
7:30P MICHIGAN @ MINNESOTA - ABC
7:30P MARYLAND @ NORTHWESTERN - BTN
Now you know the schedule, but what if you don't have a killer Man Cave with multiple TVs and you want to see both the MSU and OSU games at the same time? Where can you watch the games, get some good grub and some good Michigan microbrew beers? Luckily for you I've done the homework for you and here are three good suggestions with multiple TVs and they check all the boxes.
UCCELLO'S RISTORANTE served their first pizza back in1978. And most Uccello's have up to 20 beers on tap. They have amazing Italian items if you're not into their great pizza - I recommend the "deluxe", it's a little better than the supreme to me. They have locations all over West Michigan including Downtown Grand Rapids, Grandville, East Beltline, Standale, Caledonia and Rockford.
PEPPININOS SPORTS GRILLS have been in business since 1976 in West Michigan and now locations in Downtown Grand Rapids, Standale, Jenison, Kentwood and Allendale. Most locations come close to 20 beers on draft including some seasonal Halloween beers like Punkadiddle by Trail Point. Love their pizza too. But they also have subs, gourmet sandwiches, burgers, and apps like the Peppinio's Bites and Loaded Tots.
BIG E'S SPORTS BAR & GRILL: they have locations on the East Beltline, in Midland, in Holland (the one on Monroe in downtown Grand Rapids inside the Embassy Suites is temporarily closed). What you'll really like is their TV walls that make it like being at the game. Also Local craft beer, pizza, burgers, subs and I really like their loaded Tots.
Going to check out some more locations and will report on them for next week too like the Score Restaurant and Sports Bar, have never been there without the Palm Trees.
Go Green!
Go Blue!
Go Bucs! Oh you thought I was cheering on Ohio State. Nope TB12 and Tampa Bay...gotcha!
