  • Cheryl Schuch, Family Promise of Grand Rapids
  • Stuart Ray, Guiding Light Mission
  • Amy and David, helped by both Family Promise and Guiding Light

I'm joined by Cheryl Schuch of Family Promise of Grand Rapids and Stuart Ray of Guiding Light Mission. Joining them are Amy and David who have been helped by their organizations.

We chat about this mission of their organizations and how they help those who are homeless in our community get back on their feet, the leading causes of homelessness and the stats for homelessness in our community.

Amy and David candidly share their stories of being homeless and how they were able to get back on their feet through the help of Family Promise and Guiding Light and advice they have for others struggling with a similar situation, what people need to know about homelessness that they may not know, homeless camps in Grand Rapids, a younger homeless population, the average stay for folks being helped by their organizations, what inspired Stuart to leave the business world to help those who are homeless, what Family Promise does to help families stay intact that are experiencing homelessness, what our community can do to support their organizations, and more……

I do hope you'll have a chance to tune in! I'm really looking forward to introducing you to folks around West Michigan every week who are helping to positively shape our area with their music, their art, their bold business ideas, and the causes they're passionate about!

Tom and Jake Scheidel also join me to chat about the 8th annual Jake's Music Festival to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We talk about the eclectic group of musicians that will be performing, about some of the important things people should understand about Juvenile Diabetes, and those who help make Jake's Music Festival possible.
