Suspect Arrested in G.R. Brewery Employee Attack
It was over a week ago when an employee at the Mitten Brewing Co., in Grand Rapids, was randomly attacked but thankfully the suspect was caught and arrested.
The GRPD posted the update on their Facebook page. 32-year-old Travis Loveland was taken into custody on Friday, July 27th and charged with assault with intent to do great Bodily Harm and Felonious Assault. Karma was obviously in motion that day because Loveland got to celebrate his birthday in jail.
On July 20th, the 25-year-old employee had stepped outside to smoke a cigarette [after his shift at the Mitten] when Loveland approached him asking for one as well. The victim told him he had smoked his last one. When he turned to go back in, he was hit in the head with what he believes was a baseball bat.
Even though the suspect has been caught, police say the investigation is still on-going. If you have any information contact Detective Case Weston at (616) 456-3384 or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345.
According to WOOD-TV, this isn't Loveland's first run-in with the law. In 2011, he was sentenced to 300 days in jail for assault, resisting or obstructing an officer.
