A new University of Michigan study confirms a theory that may shed some light on why it's so hard to drop pounds. We're addicted to food!

Yeah, that's not groundbreaking new intel, but it does confirm what nutritionists have been saying all along, processed food is bad.

When they say "processed food," what exactly are they talking about? Think pizza, chocolate, or french fries. You know, all the foods you love and are, eh, ADDICTED to!

Studies in animals have shown that highly processed food, which would include foods with added fat or foods like flour and sugar (with refined carbohydrates), could be capable of triggering a type of addictive eating behavior.

The good news is unprocessed food, like brown rice or salmon, had no association with addictive eating.

The entire study is really fascinating, especially if you're trying to trim up and eat clean. Give it a read here.
