West MI Woman Wins National Bake-Off Contest! [Video]
A woman from West Michigan has 50,000 reasons to celebrate!
Melissa Jollands of Hudsonville was crowned the winner of Pillsbury's Bake-Off Contest and was awarded with a $50,000 check. Oh yea, she also gets a kitchen makeover courtesy of GE Appliances, and a feature in Food Network Magazine.
So what was the winning recipe? Lots and lots of cheese, of course! Jolland created the Dublin Cheeseboard-Stuffed Appetizer Bread consists of
...creamy honey goat cheese, white cheddar and flavorful salami baked to perfection inside our Pillsbury™ French bread. Served alongside classic cheeseboard accompaniments like dried apricots, arugula and fig preserves...
Alright, I'm officially drooling. What's not to love?! IT'S CHEESES STUFFED IN BREAD!
Jolland said she was inspired to create this recipe after a trip she took to Dublin in 2016; and the cheeseboard, she ordered at the hotel, was by far the best meal she had in Ireland.
You can read her full story and get the recipe (with delicious pictures) here.
Congrats Melissa on representing West Michigan! We're all coming over to your place for dinner now ;-)
The Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest was started in 1949 and the very first grand prize winner was No-Knead Water-Rising Twists.
