Severe Weather Sparks Groundhog Day Moments On West Michigan Roads
The movie Groundhog Day stars Bill Murray as a TV weatherman covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.

Without ruining the entire movie, A blizzard traps him there, and he wakes up to find himself reliving February 2nd repeatedly in a time loop.
For people living in West Michigan we've been in a loop of car pile ups with three major ones happening so far in January.

Those pileups range in size from around 17 vehicles to more than 100.
Monday January 19th
Location: I-196 Zeeland / Hudsonville: More than 100 vehicles, including 30–40 semis.
Monday January 26th
Location: I-196 in Allegan County near Saugatuck: Approximately 17 vehicles, including about 5 semis.
Tuesday January 27th
Location: M-6 southeast of Grand Rapids: Reported 20 to 30 vehicles in the pileup.
All of these terrible pileups were brought on by a combination of heavy snow, strong winds and icy conditions that created moments of temporary blindness which in just a second can cause a multi car pile up.
Hopefully you never find yourself in this scary situation, but if you do, here's what you should do.
Stay in your vehicle with your seat belt on, hazards flashing, and avoid standing in traffic or between vehicles.
If it’s still a chain‑reaction crash and you’re in a live lane, exit only if you can safely get out on the side away from traffic and move far off the road.
Call 911 and give your location.
To stay warm, run the engine occasionally, make sure the exhaust pipe is clear of snow, crack a window slightly, and use blankets or extra clothing for insulation.
