Grand Rapids' newest venue, Acrisure Amphitheater, is set to open on Friday, May 15, and because it's new, people have a lot of questions as to what they can and can not bring into the venue.

Acrisure's FAQs on their website answer most of those questions for you, but we've put them all together here for easy access.

What IS Allowed to Be Brought Into Grand Rapids' Acrisure Amphitheater

The good news is, there are a lot of things that you are allowed to bring into the amphitheater. Including items that are designed for your comfort.

You are allowed to bring in:

  • Trained service animals
  • Small clutches no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 2"
  • Medical/essential bags (Note that these will be screened by security.)
  • Small blankets
  • Lawn chairs (Must be collapsible or beach chairs that do not exceed 12" from the ground to the bottom of the seat when unfolded. Chairs of any kind will not be allowed at certain events.) If you are arriving with a chair, you must enter through the Riverside Entrance.
  • Ponchos
  • Water bottles (Note: One factory-sealed bottled water 20 oz. or under per person is allowed. 32 oz. or smaller empty refillable plastic water bottles are also allowed.)

What ISN'T Allowed to Be Brought Into Grand Rapids' Acrisure Amphitheater

As with any music venue, there are many items that are not allowed to be brought into Acrisure Amphitheater. Those include:

  • Animals that are not trained service animals
  • Bags larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 2"
  • Large blankets
  • Professional cameras with flashes
  • Camcorders
  • Telephoto or zoom lenses
  • Monopods
  • Tripods
  • iPads
  • Selfie sticks
  • Flash equipment
  • Outside food and beverages (excluding factory-sealed water bottles 20 oz. or less - one per person)
  • Lawn chairs that exceed 12" from the ground to the bottom of the seat when unfolded
  • Umbrellas
  • Strollers
  • Laser pointers
  • Alcohol
  • Illegal drugs
  • Noise-making devices
  • Fireworks
  • Flashlights
  • Skateboards
  • Rollerblades
  • Beach Balls
  • Cans or bottles

These ones should go without saying, but weapons aren't allowed, including:

  • Firearms
  • Explosives
  • Stun guns
  • Handcuffs
  • Brass knuckles
  • Sticks
  • Clubs
  • Batons
  • Martial arts instruments
  • Pepper spray
  • Tear gas
  • Knives

Is Smoking Allowed in Acrisure Amphitheater?

Short answer? No. Longer answer? Not even e-cigarettes or vapes. In addition, the Amphitheater does not have designated smoking sections outside. Anyone who leaves the venue will not be allowed to re-enter.
