Will Charter Schools Replace Public Schools?
Parents who have been on the look out for a superior education for their children may not have to work so hard to get his or her children enrolled in a charter school.
I'm not 100% versed on all of the controversy surrounding funding and accredidation requirements, but I do know that public school districts have been battling the challenge of offering a higher educational standard or else parents will take state funding for their child(ren) elsewhere. Of course, there is home schooling and parents then opt to pay out of their pocket -- as do parents who choose to send their kids to parochial or boarding schools.
I found an interesting article posted on mlive.com that you may want to read up on and it addresses the teachers union battle with charter schools. From what I can gather, charter schools may win in the end.
