A West Michigan woman and her kids thought that Tuesday was going to be like any other day when she brought them to downtown Grand Rapids to go to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. It ended up being anything but that.

As Allison Williams was getting her sons out of her car, she realized that there were several officers and police cars near her, and a man with his hands in his coat pockets yelling repeatedly for the officers to "Kill me now!" Williams and her children took cover behind their car while officers diffused the situation, ultimately handcuffing the man.

What happened after was something that Williams appreciated so much that she took to Facebook to thank the GRPD and one officer in particular.

Though Williams didn't mention the name of the officer in her post, the Grand Rapids Police Department shared her post and identified the man pictured as Officer Wuis.
