This is about the time of year that everyone realizes that bathing suit season is fast approaching and they have already broken their New Years resolution to loose weight.

So instead of starving yourself in order to look good in that dreaded bathing suit we found some a simple hack that will help you cut your calories in half! If you can boil water, you can do it!

According to a presentation at the 249th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society, scientists say they have discovered a new way to cook starches that can reduce their calories by up to 60 percent!

They conducted the study with white rice, and all they did was  boil one teaspoon of coconut oil and one cup of water. Then add half a cup of rice and let it simmer for up to 40 minutes, or until it absorbs all the water. Next, fluff it with a fork and pop it in your fridge for at least 12 hours. Then microwave to reheat. simple enough

How can it be that easy? : Researchers say the combination of cooking and cooling turns the regular starch in carbs into something called resistant starch.

This resistant starch stands up to the digestive enzymes. Those are the enzymes that typically help your body absorb calories from food.

So thanks to those resistant starches, the rice they studied above contained 10 to 15 times more resistant starch and 50 to 60 percent fewer calories when it is cooked the regular way.
