100th Street Bridge Is Being Demolished This Weekend
After being hit over and over by semi-trucks, the 100th Street Bridge over US 131 is getting demolished this weekend.
But, have no fear, a new bridge will be built in its place later this year. The new bridge will be wider as well as 2 in a half feet taller in hopes that trucks will stop running into it. The construction is expected to last over 5 months and will result in closures of 100th Street and US 131.
The first closure is 100th Street both ways at 131, it is currently closed and will be until October. This weekend (March 27th - March 29th) 131 will be down to one lane both ways underneath the bridge and the following weekend (April 3rd - April 5th) their will be lane closures and possible complete closures of US 131 underneath the bridge.
