Man, food is getting scary these days!  First lettuce, then cake mix and now we’re back to beef, which I guess was technically first on the recall list.

On October 4th, the USDA Food and Safety Inspection Service issued a recall for ground beef and just yesterday expanded that recall to around 12,000 pounds if raw beef because of Salmonella concerns.

The USDA says that 246 people in 25 different states across the U.S. have fallen ill because of the tainted beef.

According to the USDA recall:

The raw, non-intact beef items, including ground beef, were packaged on various dates from July 26, 2018 to Sept. 7, 2018.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 267” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to a retail locations and institutions nationwide.

If you do have the tainted beef, you should throw it away or take it back to where you bought it and get a refund; and maybe some chicken... that still seems to be safe.
