Monday afternoon, 3 children and a woman were found dead in northern Kent County. All 4 had gunshot wounds.

According to WOOD, 2-year-old Alaina Moore, 6-year-old Cassidy Rodery, 8-year-old Kyrie Rodery and 28-year-old Aubrianne Moore have been identified by family members.

The cousin of the 2-year-old, Alyssa Rau said, "They were awesome kids, absolutely great. The oldest excelled in reading like no other. The youngest one, she was just so joyful and so happy all the time. And then the middle child, she was just rambunctious and wild and always put a smile on everybody's face."

Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young said the bodies were found northwest of Cedar Springs at a property on 19 Mile Road near Division Avenue. No word if the bodies were located indoors or outdoors.

LaJoye-Young said, "Very sad. Very, very sad. It's been very difficult for our investigators and I'm sure it is for the community as well."

Investigators say the children were shot at a second crime scene but have yet to be able to locate it. If you have seen any evidence of a shooting, you are urged to contact the sheriff's department at 616-632-6100.

Family members said they believe Moore murdered her children then took her own life.

Sheriff LaJoye-Young did say there was no threat to the public and no shooter was on the loose. She didn't say it was a murder suicide yet since its still early in the investigation.

Family members did say that Moore had spent time in a mental institution a year ago and they also said they wished she would have sought more help.
