Random or coincidence? That's what the Grand Rapids Police Department is currently trying to figure out.

On Monday morning, just after 9, the Fifth Third Bank at Michigan and Fuller was robbed. The suspect said he had a gun, took the money and fled by foot. He is still at large.

Later in the day, around 1 p.m., the Fifth Third on Bridge St. was also robbed. He too implied that he had a weapon before taking an undisclosed amount of money, according to the GRPD. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30's, 5'8'' and slim build.

Police haven't said whether the two men are actually the same person or not, but based on camera footage it seems to be pretty spot on. The only thing the guy changed was the color of his shirt and hat.

According to the GRPD, Monday's robberies make it the 5th in the city.
