Michigan Grammy Award Winner And Michigan Based Brewery Partner
Michigan Grammy Award Winner Billy Strings and Michigan-based Short's Brewing have partnered in making a new non-alcoholic beverage.
Billy Strings
Billy Strings was born in Lansing Michigan in 1992. Strings spent part of his childhood growing up in Morehead, Kentucky before moving to Muir, Michigan to finish growing up.
Strings step dad, Terry Barber was a bluegrass player and was a major influence on Billy growing up.
In 2012 String's bluegrass career began as he was very strong at playing several different bluegrass-oriented instruments.
In 2016 Strings earned the 2016 Momentum Award for Instrumentalist of the year from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Billy Strings was featured in Rolling Stone magazine in 2017 and 2018.
He has since shared the stage with Dierks Bentley, Bob Weir, Sam Bush, The Marcus King Band, and several more. Strings also performed on Austin City Limits.
Strings won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards for his spectacular album Home.
Billy now lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and is continuing to bring his bluegrass music to the masses.
Short's Brewing and Billy Strings Partner on New Beverage
Short's Brewing Company is a brewpub and microbrewery in Bellaire, Michigan. Joe Short began the company back in 2002 and the rest is history.
Short's Brewing has collaborated with another Michigander and Grammy Award-winning bluegrass musician Billy Strings on a new non-alcoholic, sparkling hop water called "Thirst Mutilator."
According to Short's Brewings website, Thirst Mutilator has zero calories, zero carbs, and zero alcohol and the first flavor to arrive will be Lemon-Lime.
You can get Thirst Mutilator at select venues during the Billy Strings summer tour but soon it will be available in 6-packs at stores across Michigan. Short's will also have it available through their website beginning Monday, June 27, at 4:20 p.m. EST.
