A familiar face to viewers of WOOD-TV8 has announced their departure.

Casey Jones, who has been with WOOD since 2012 announced on June 6 that he will be leaving the station for a different endeavor.

Over the years, Jones has served as a sports anchor/reporter, a morning news anchor, and most recently, as the station's Director of Community Affairs.

Where is Casey Jones From Grand Rapids' WOOD-TV8 Going?

While Jones is leaving television, he's not leaving the industry altogether. In a post on Facebook, he announced that he will be leaving to become the President and CEO of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

The MAB is a non-profit organization that represents commercial radio and television stations in Michigan.

When Is Casey Jones Leaving WOOD-TV8?

The good news is that Jones isn't leaving right away. He stated on Facebook that his final day with WOOD will be June 17. He'll begin his roll with the MAB on June 24, 2024.
