The town of Allegan, Michigan is dealing with a suspected cat killer after residents have posted several reports of mutilated cats on social media.

On January 10th, a cat was found in a bag in a dumpster at the Shell Gas Station.  That is the only public report of finding a mutilated cat, but WWMT reports that there have been other posts on the private Facebook group 'Allegan Informed'.

Police don't have any suspects and Allegan County Animal Control had no comment about the incidents.  If you have any information that may lead to an arrest, you can contact the Allegan Police Department by calling 269-673-2115.

Penalties for torturing or killing an animal can face up to ten years in prison, a $5,000 fine, and/or 500 hours of community service. (Michigan Legislature Section 750.50b)
