Darren McCarty is a pretty iconic person in Michigan after the time he spent leading the pack for The Detroit Redwings to 4 Stanley Cup victories.

He retired from the ice back in 2009 after spending 17 years playing in Detroit, but that doesn't mean he's done with sports. In fact, he had a pretty insane week playing an entirely different sport.

What has Darren McCarty been up to since leaving the Detroit Redwings?

Darren has been keeping busy since his retirement (if you can even call it that with how hard he's been working)

Including making some commercial appearances on the east side of the state:

And being one of the many Michigan and national celebrities to get his own branding deal with a cannabis company.

But the latest thing he's accomplished takes him off the ice and onto the golf course, and is something most golfers never accomplish after a lifetime of play.

While playing on the Oakland University- Sharf Course, Darren got a huge surprise when he went to look for his ball on the green

While he looks a little unsure at the start of the video, once the camera pans to the hole, you notice what he sees at the exact same time: his ball in the cup

And he's just as excited as any of us would be if we got a hole in one, even as a 4x Stanley Cup champion
