Frank The Potbelly Pig Has A New Home After Being Caught Running The Streets Of Detroit

Detroit police and animal control received an unusual call on Friday morning.

There were multiple reports of a big potbelly pig on the loose near the corner of West Chicago and Heyden on the west side of Detroit.

In this picture you can see a Detroit Police officer looking at the potbelly pig and probably wondering how the heck did this guy end up here?

The Potbelly pig led Detroit's finest on a slow speed chase as he walked from house to house enjoying  some grass and other treats.

Eventually he was caught by Detroit Animal Control who transported him to his new home, an animal sanctuary in Manchester called Sasha Farms.

Monte Jackson who founded Sahsa Farm told Fox 2 that it's not uncommon for animals to get loose in the city of Detroit.

"They have all this urban farming going on in Detroit so people think they can have chickens and farm animals and they can't," he said. "They get cited for it and they have to get rid of it.

It's a great thing that places like Sasha Farm exists, They have given over 200 other animals a home to live a happy life just like Frank the Potbelly Pig.

Frank was named after the man that provides Sasha Farms with hay.
