Discover Free Family Fun At Blandford Nature Center This August

As a mom always on the lookout for fun, educational activities to keep my son entertained during the summer, I was pretty excited to discover that a West Michigan attraction is offering free admission for the entire month. Blandford Nature Center announced this week that they are offering free admission throughout August, making this the perfect opportunity to explore one of West Michigan’s hidden gems without spending a dime.

Blandford Nature Center is nestled on a sprawling 264-acre preserve and is a paradise for families like mine. From dawn to dusk, you and your little ones can wander the beautiful trails, discover the wonders of nature, and maybe even spot some wildlife. My son loves the adventure of exploring the great outdoors and seeing new things, and with so much space to roam, there’s always something new to discover.

One of the highlights of Blandford is the Wildlife Education Center, where you’ll find animals that have been rehabilitated but are no longer able to live in the wild. These wildlife ambassadors play a big role in the center’s educational programs, reaching thousands of students and families each year. It’s an amazing way for the kids to learn about animals up close and personal.

But that’s not all—Blandford has packed August with a variety of free programs and activities that are sure to delight kids and parents alike. My personal favorites include Storytime at the Blandford Farm and the creative Wildflower Craft Wednesdays. These are just the kind of hands-on activities that keep kids engaged and learning without them even realizing it.

While most of the events are free, thanks to a generous donation from Meijer, do keep in mind that a few activities, like yoga and guided Shinrin-Yoku (a form of forest bathing), may have a fee. This free admission offer runs through August 31, so there’s plenty of time to plan your visit.
