It has become a mission to find my favorite bookstore here, not including Barnes & Noble.
Yesterday, I visited an independent bookstore that has stolen my heart in more ways than one.
Here is a list of the best independent bookstores in West Michigan, according to Google reviews.
Schuler Books (Grand Rapids)
Schuler Books has become my new bestie in the book game.
Ever since I visited for the first time a few weeks back, I find myself visiting every two weeks.
My favorite aspect of the store is that the employees leave notes on the books, describing what it is about or fantastically explaining why this book should be your next read.
Kris Shannon says that Schuler Books is

Regardless, the selection is great, the cafe is good and the fact that they have just as many gifts as books makes this a true well-rounded shopping experience! Books & Mortar (Grand Rapids)
According to its Instagram bio, Books & Mortar is "Grand Rapids' Proudly Progressive, Consciously Curated, Fierce Independent Bookstore."
How does that description not scream "Come visit me?!"

Readers World (Holland)
Located in downtown Holland, Readers World has been enhancing each of its readers' worlds. A user named Gidyup says that Readers World is

I have been meaning to visit this bookstore since I moved to Grand Rapids. We Are Lit! is more than a bookstore. It is a mission to bring inclusivity to the forefront in books.
