And just like when a good friend moves away, it can be hard to say goodbye to a news person when they are no longer at your favorite TV station.

Long-Time Fox 17 Reporter Says Goodbye To Grand Rapids

On Wednesday March 19th Michael Martin said goodbye to Fox 17 viewers after working at the station for over 10 years.

Michael Martin started out behind the camera at Fox 17 and during his 11 years at the station found himself in front of it as well.

Over the past 11 years, Michael Martin covered some significant stories in Michigan, including major auto insurance changes and the plot to kidnap and assassinate Governor Whitmer.

Michael also reported on a story close to me: my coworker and friend had their house broken into and their car stolen while they were sleeping upstairs.

One of my favorite memories with Michael Martin was when we got to emceed a donkey basketball game in Ravenna.
