Saturday is the 8th Annual Mayors' Grand River Clean Up.  The clean up brings together the mayors of Grand Rapids, Grandville, Walker, and Wyoming for a collaborative effort.  About 450 total volunteers are needed to make the clean up a success.

The Grand River clean up begins with registration at 9:00am at Sixth Street Park on Saturday.  The clean up runs from 9:30am - Noon.  Participants will be transported by shuttle bus to various locations to help with the clean up.  Breakfast and lunch are provided and the first 450 volunteers get a free t-shirt.

Over 15,000 lbs of trash were removed from the river last year.  Over 80,000 lbs of trash has been removed in the first seven years of the clean up which covers over 12 miles of riverbank.
