Would you go up to someone and ask them "what's in between your legs?" Probably not. So why do it to someone who's transgender? It's just one of the things we talk about for this week's segment of Just the Tip Tuesday.

Today's Just the Tip Tuesday comes on a Monday because today, 11/20, is Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). Today is a day to remember all those who's lives were lost because of anti-transgender crimes. This is not just a day recognized in the U.S. but all over the world so we had Ellie Webster of the Grand Rapids Pride Center join us to talk about TDOR, surprising statistics when it comes to the transgender community and how people can get involved today and thereon!

For Transgender Day of Remembrance, you can join the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation & the Grand Rapids Pride Center at the Goei Center from 7p-9p to honor and recognize those who lost their lives this year. A candlelight vigil will be held and guest speakers will also be at the event. You can get more info about tonight's event here.

In addition, Ellie talks about what it means to be trans and how the best thing one can do is educate themselves and be respectful, just like you would with anyone else. Our conversation finishes tomorrow because there is a lot to know and learn!

In the meantime the Grand Rapids Pride Center is a great place to look to for questions or resources.
