Back in the day I (Fish) had a tummy tuck because of an emergency appendectomy scar that I had from High School. I had lost a bunch of weight afterwards and that damn scar folded in and looked like a butt. It was so frustrating. So I have a giant scar now from that surgery. Sometimes I will tell kids it’s from a knife fight … heehehe … I am weird. This is where we came up with the TQOTD back in the day and now we bring it back …

TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
How did you get that scar?

  • Most people say, you have the CUTEST dimple. It's not a dimple. When I was young, I was running down the hallway at our neighbor's home to catch the boys. They slammed the door as I was coming thru the doorframe. That sticky-out thing clipped my cheek and ripped the heck out of my skin. Their poor mom had all boys so my screaming and crying scared the bejeebers out of her. My grandma ran over and they all decided no stitches (I pry should've). But, for the longest time, they called it the double-trouble simple as I was chasing the twin boys :)
  • I've got WAY too many for one person. From 3 to 5, I was accident prone! 3 I fell in a hole and a root went through my armpit. 4 I bit the tip of my tongue off. 5 I thought I could balance on the pole in the school parking lot...picked up one foot, good, picked up the other NOPE, not that good! The back of my head kissed the pavement. So much for modeling that night. Lol
  • Me and a friend of mine, when we were 13, were riding a moped and wiped out and I have a big scar on my knee and a faint one on my elbow and she had to have stitches in her head.
  • When I was 8 I ran into a metal pole. It dented my eye bone. I got stitches and had to put vitamin E oil on it. I couldn't play outside at RECESS for 12 weeks
  • I have a forehead scar. Jumped into a ceiling fan when I was a kid
  • I was 4 or 5 and reached into a mud puddle to grab out the turtle I had brought home from "up north". Pulled out my hand and had sliced my palm wide open. Still have a noticeable scar 40+ years later.
  • Last summer I was walking with pier with my kids, long story short my flip flop got caught on one of the rocks next to the pier and I ended up slicing my knee open on the barrier wall of the pier. I had to get it all stitched up and everything but I had to walk six blocks back to my car gushing blood. My kids were four and six and they were freaking out and my daughter was running and telling everybody that Mom is turning into a zombie. Seriously the scariest moment of my life because I couldn't keep up with my poor kids!
  • I had breast cancer
  • When I was 5 my mom was running down a flight of cement stairs and tripped. Still holding my hand, she took me down with her. My bottom tooth bit right through my lower lip. She luckily caught herself.
  • I tore my Achilles. Got into a fight with a bear
  • Ran full speed head first into the corner of a brick wall when I was 5
  • Playing ding-dong ditch when I was about 10 years old.

  • Scar on my forehead from getting bit by my dog. I still love dogs
  • When I was a sophomore in high school, I was riding my 10 speed bike and when I applied my brakes to slow down at the bottom of a hill, my front brakes went into the spokes of the front tire and I flew over the handlebars and landed on the left side of my face. I was literally like 2-face. And it was the day after my school picture was taken. ER doctor was good with stitching. Slight scar in eyebrow, and tiny one inch scar at the corner of my eye. The rest healed beautifully.
  • When I was 8 yrs old I fell off a coal box backwards in West Virginia and landed on my elbow! Had to have pins and a wire put in it. 2. Sliced my finger on a lawn mower blade when we first bought it 6 years ago. 3. Last year at work tried to catch a tote that was falling and caught my knuckle on a jagged piece of plastic. 4. 3 years ago cutting the plastic tab off some floor mats and sliced my finger open. 5. 24 I think and was riding my mom’s bike on the main road by her house and the pedal came off. Flipped over the handle bars and busted my head open. Had to get 8 stitches in my head. Last but not least when I was a very young child I fell on the porch while we were stationed in Japan and cut my forehead open.
  • I split my finger open on an immersion blender in college. I severed the nerves in my finger and sometimes get phantom pains.
  • Golf club to the head, age 10. Split my forehead wide open. 200 stitches to pull the underlying tissue and muscle and top layers back together.
  • Put my ice skate blade into my leg when I fell. Still have a big scar on my leg.
  • I was working at an Old Country Buffet back when they were still a thing. I was messing around as I usually do and told my coworkers. "Man I don't want to be here, I should cut myself so I can go home." About 5 min later I was opening a bag of eggs with a knife as usual. "spoiler OCB didn't have real eggs" the knife slipped and I cut myself... I felt so stupid. I just wrapped it up and kept moving... Never got to go home.
  • Scar on my right leg from having it amputated, 5 scars on my left arm 3 from the surgery to place the rod and 2 from the pins they used to hold it together, right hand punched the windshield in a car accident and is all scarred up like cracked glass, left ankle scar from removing the chunk of bone that broke and never healed. Also a small scar in my left armpit from a chest tube and then the 3 c-section scars.
  • I was holding my skateboard and opening the door to go outside, and my dog jumped out the door, knocking the skateboard up into my mouth. Subtle scar on my lower lip from where my teeth almost went all the way through it.
  • When I was 11 I was leading a sheep around training it for 4-H it slipped out of its lead before we left the barn so I stood over it(one leg on each side) to hold him still while I put the lead back on and he bucked up and sent me flying into the door that had the metal peeling off and cut my leg a few inches below my knee that required stitches and left a 2 inch scar.

Or walking from my friends house to her grandmas house in the dark and there was a foot sized hole in the porch steps and my leg went right through scraping my knee again. • Got into a fight with the shower, and the shower won... I slipped in the shower and fell. I broke the cold water knob off with my chin and then hit my head on the cold water pipe. I have a scar on my chin and eyebrow because of it.
  • I have So many scars due to a car accident in 2014. my two biggest ones are: big one on my right thigh: where my femur came through. long one on my stomach: doctors gave me too many fluids so they had to cut me open & vacuum it out! these are just two of the dozens
  • I earned a large curved scar on the top of my hand from an axe while splitting apple wood for a smoker. The blade glanced out of the wood and took a wild bounce across the top of my other hand, peeling the skin back like an orange

  • Allergic reaction to medication that burned off all my skin.
  • Pushing roast at Arby’s and my hand slipped off and hit the blade. Part of my thumb was taken off my senior year of high school
  • Literally split my bottom lip when I was two. Was singing “3 Little Monkeys” while jumping on a bed. Guess who fell and hit her head?
  • I’ll answer for my husband as he has the most epic scars of all: necrotizing fasciitis aka flesh eating bacteria. Looks like a shark ate off everything from his knee up to below his butt cheek and took a chunk out of his hip. Refuses to get a tattoo that says “shark bit here” He’s a warrior for surviving that disease.
  • When I was 11 or 12 I was racing my brother to the car. He took the walkway. I thought I’d be slick and climb over the picket fence. As I was going over I lost my balance and fell ass first on the picket. Needless to say I got stitches in my butt. Literally. 1/4 inch more to the left I would’ve need surgery.
  • When I was 4 my cousin ran over me with a riding lawnmower, the blade thankfully wasn’t going but it still lodged into my foot, pretty sure I’m lucky to still have my foot and just have a big scar on the bottom of my foot, two toes don’t have nails, and my little toe piggybacks on the one next to it
  • I was cutting grapes off the stem with a knife like a dum dum. The knife slipped and well, hit my knuckle. 3 stitches and crooked middle finger later I have a gnarly scar. I call it my witch finger because it reminds me of the witch in snow white.
  • My cat attacked my son while he was wearing a Batman mask. I put my body in front of him and my cat ripped up my face with her claws. Like a bad horror movie, we ran upstairs and were trapped in a bedroom with her making horrible noises on the other side of the door. We had to call the police, and firemen had to come inside my house with full gear on to get my cat away from us. I have scars on my lip and under my nose, as well as my arm. And my heart.
  • When I was 9 I was on the way home from a dance recital and a man had killed two people and was being chased by the police. He was southbound we were northbound. He saw a roadblock ahead, shot himself, and died instantly. His car swerved across the median into ours causing the seatbelt to pop a hole in my intestine. Now have a long scar down my stomach.
  • Forgot the immersion blender was plugged in and "swiped" it clean with my finger. Accidentally turned it on with my other hand. Had to be driven to the ER with an appliance dangling from my finger because the blade lodged itself so deep it pinned my finger inside. The doctor said in his 35 years of practice he had never seen such an injury. He took pictures to show his colleagues as it was on Thanksgiving. Needless to say, I ALWAYS remember to unplug the blender now.
