If You Could Fix One Thing About Your Boss, What Would It Be? – #TQOTD

A recent article listed the most common complaints about people's bosses and the number one complaint was...  communication!  So, we wanted to know if you have similar complaints about your boss and what you would "fix" about them.

TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
If you could fix ONE THING about your boss … what would it be and why?

• #TQOTD I would change the fact that my boss is a hypocrite. She's constantly late for work but yet if me or a coworker clock in more than 3 minutes late, we get chewed out. I understand that we shouldn't be clocking in late period but damn. Have some integrity.
• If I could fix one thing about my boss it would be how much she lets people take advantage of her and her services. She runs a big photography business in Lansing and she is the greatest person I have ever worked for
• I wish my boss would tell me her end goal instead of beating around the bush. I'm not a mind reader!
• If I could change anything about my boss I would give her more backbone maybe a bitch streak. She has too many people that like to push her around because she is very nice.
• I would change that my former boss would understand/get diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder. He is actually a good guy deep down, but he just doesn't understand how the way he is effects all of his relationships. Work and otherwise. However, narcissists struggle to admit to themselves that they are the cause of their problems....
• He needs to stop telling customers what he thinks they want to hear. It ruins his credibility. The hard conversations that are the truth is oh, so much better
• My boss thinks he knows everything about everything and won't listen to anybody else that can prove him wrong
• The one thing I would fix about my boss is, give her a backbone! She isn't stern enough and she doesn't like to make waves
• TQOTD : Maybe I'd change my boss to be a tad quieter? I try to nap on breaks and sometimes I'll be woken up by his shouts as he plays fooseball with other workers. He is a little bit
• TQOTD: I would like to have my boss remember more. He isn't remembering things like he should and it's affecting a couple of things. If he had better memory, work life would be a bit better.
• If i could fix something about my boss it would be not so rude
• I would love to fix my boss in to a new JOB!
• My boss thinks everything's a big secret and if you don't need to know what you don't know what email but then when they say I told you and you say no you didn't you get written up for disobeying and order
• I'd have my boss stop calling mandatory weekends, were only required to work one weekend a month not 3 or 4. No one likes to keep canceling plans with family for work. He should have to come in and work as well but he doesn't, he gets to stay home with his family!!
• #TQOTD I would make my boss less witchy with a B. We've even had customers complain about what a jerk she is. I would say don't make me Anonymous, but I need this job #broke #whitchy with a B #not as bad as sweet sweet D
• Only thing to fix my boss... the way he communicates
• I would change my boss by giving him better taste in beer.
• I wish my boss didn't demean women and make them feel inferior all the time..... and that he stops staring at my boobs! Can't he see the eyes on my face?
• My boss is pretty awesome. I would only want him to be more computer savvy.
• My bosses are 5 sassy little tyrants age 9 and under, with two being my own. Some reasoning skills and insight that maybe the adults who’ve been there and done that know better than they do would be extremely helpful for the 9 year olds; being potty trained and having improved language skills would be a superb improvement for the 3 under 3.
• My boss was exceptional. Now we are without a long term director and it’s exhausting worrying about “what’s next”
• Well I have 2 jobs, and many bosses between the 2...but i think the biggest thing I'd change about any of my bosses is that they take into consideration how their actions and decisions affect us.
• That she is not in the state all the time :( my boss is the bestest
• That I even had a boss. The shift I work has been without a boss for a year and a half. All of my shifts whatnots fell on to the already overworked second shift boss. I'm currently trying to become the new boss though. Cross those fingers and toes for me guy!
• My boss is really down to earth, and as long as we do our job she let's us do our own thing. Nothing, wouldn't change anything! Boss I've ever had.
• Honestly! Not a thing! My boss / bosses at my Trucking company are awesome!

• I’m my own boss so I asked my kids what they would fix about me. They said I worry too much.

• The way “he/she” talks to people
• Nothing he fired me almost two weeks ago for refusing to do a coworkers job when they called in.
• I wish my boss had his poop in a group! He's so disorganized and it causes more work! Things like not relaying all the information, causing job re-do's. He doesn't prioritize properly, making our time for jobs not maximized.
• If I could change one thing about my boss, I would change his expectations of me.I totally do not want to do what I'm being trained to do!
• Tqotd: I would change my boss's ability to remember what she says. She makes a lot of promises that she later states never happened
• Bringing her attitude to work because of her home life
• Make a damn decision!!!
• When you tell your boss about a problem in the department with another coworker creating a hostile and toxic environment, do something to help the situation, not just say "what do you want ME to do about it?" and get mad at the person. Creates a workplace where workers feel unprotected.
• I wish my boss would grow a set if balls. And stop being a kiss ass. And if he would do his job then his crew would.not have to do his work for him. I've always been thought, lead by example, and trust me he's not a leader.
• I wish my boss was nicer to women! If you don’t have a...you know nothing. Our office is 90% women.
• My boss needs to stop playing favorites. There are a couple people in our department that seem to get raises and bumped up the ladder a lot.
• I wish employees wouldn't Make assumptions about their bosses. My husband's at the peak of his career and he gets a lot of flack from employees for having emergency only calls on the weekend so that he can be with his family. What they don't know is that he works nights and weekends for 7 years working his way up. If you're looking for sympathy for not wanting to work a third shift in your first 30 days on the job, you came to the wrong boss. #devilsadvokate #notfedwithasilverspoon
• I would change how they give out orders. How they deliver them. Sometimes, it’s difficult to understand what they actually mean, and then they get mad at you for it.
• What I would change about my boss is.hire someone who is capable and qualified to do the job.he always hires family members and they are barely qualified to mow the lawn.lol
• I wish my boss realized I'm not her assistant. I have my own clients and things to do, but she pushes a bunch of her work off on me while she is dealing with her personal life. I don't mind helping out, but sometimes it is too much.
• Tqotd quit complaining about how much money you don't make when you get to drive a car you don't have to pay for with insurance the company provides and living in your $250k house to your hourly employees who have to also be on state assistance to make ends meet
• #tqotd ANONYMOUS Hi guys! If I could change one thing about my boss it would be her health. Not trying to be a B-otch but she does not take care of herself and it impacts her work--she constantly forgets things and is sick or at doctors appointments.

• The one thing I would change is... fire him! He has no filter, and has no idea what he's doing. Doesn't mentor, communicate, pfff doesn't do a damn thing!!
• There is not ONE THING I would fix about my boss. She is the best thing about my job hands down. If I had to come up with SOMETHING, I would make her divorced and available because I think she's very attractive
• My boss needs to pull her b@lls out of her purse and use them...tell the ppl that are not pulling their weight to shut up and work because the rest of us are tired of doing our share plus theirs!!! Don't care if you use my name either!!! ;)
• If I had to fix anything about my boss, it would be the fact that he is a boss. He treats his employees absolutely horrible, he's condescending and tries to belittle you at every chance he gets. He shouldn't be a team leader.

• My boss? She says that jobs "morph". What the what?? This is so she can add things and just say it is part of my job. As an admin assistant that sucks. That is why I just quit
• The one thing I'd like to change about my boss is that she is so A.D.D. It's hard to concentrate at important meetings because she bounces around from topic to topic with no Focus.
• if I could fix something about my boss, I would get a new boss, he is a hypocrite, he's a back stabber, he's nice to your face when he's in front of you and then goes and talks stuff about you behind your back to other employees, he is not a good boss, get them out of here

• We have meetings and get things planned and she has the final say on if we can proceed... she won't make a final decision
• I would change the fact that my boss is so hot and cold. Sometimes she's cool and sometimes she's crazy. It's like walking on eggshells.
• Stop managing by intimidation
• I wish I could change my bosses ability to brush issues under the rug. He never addresses issues he will always ask us "is it hurting you?" Or treat us like we are 5 and say "just ignore it" puts a bandaid on it and the issues will always fester up.
• I am a regular member of the click of six and I love you guys every day but today the banter between the three of you is on point lovin' it!!!
• My boss is very busy and often gets hijacked my clients and doesn't check in with us so sometimes we wonder if he is alive
• My boss only cares about the production side of our company and thinks that trying to micromanage what I do is how he is helping out my side... doesn't help at all and when I told him what I could use his help with he told me he was too busy.
• My boss is pretty cool as far as people go. However as a boss she's almost never present. She's taken several vacations and sick leave. In the course of a years she was probably only present for about 7 months if that. Also I work at a retirement home and she doesn't seem to have much empathy for the seniors that live there. She's more focused on moving up and on then she is about what happens right now in the facility that she's at.
• My boss has a bad habit of finishing people sentences, because she thinks she knows everything!
• I would change my boss into some random ash-hole instead of my brother the ash-hole. Then when the CEO calls from Spain I would have accepted his offer of my brothers job, instead of convincing them that my boss/brother would pull it together. Then I would still HAVE a job. Instead two years later same CEO fired the ash-hole, closed the office and moved it to Irvine. Bye bye 52k salary. Bye bye brother.
• I would change his creepiness
• My bosses myself as I'm opening my new business in will be the 1st one of its kind in West Michigan I just need to start find a way to pay myself lol
