It seems when one road construction gets done, another starts, and now two one way Grand Rapids streets may become two way streets.
According to WOOD, a couple streets in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids may be getting changed from one to two way and the city is looking for your ideas.

If you are a resident, a worker or a business owner in the areas of Ionia and Ottawa avenues the city wants to hear your input on how to turn these two into two way streets.

There is also the possibility of a sperarated bikeway that could be added to Ionia. The city is also looking at shining the area up with new trees, flowers and benches.

If you would like to voice your opinion and share your ideas with the city, here are the meeting times and locations:

  •  Monday, December 9 - 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. @ Ryerson Aduditorium
  • Tuesday, December 10 - 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. @ Ryerson Auditorium
  • Tuesday, December 10 - 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. @ Downtown Grand Rapids Inc

If you would like the full report on the updates to both Ionia and Ottawa Avenues be on the ninth floor of the Commission Chambers at City Hall on Thursday, December 12 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

If the improvements are given the green light, construction will fall under construction time that has already been set up for a different project.
