Why Pine Knob Is a Michigan Summer Staple

To be fair, there are those who have been to Pine Knob and never had to pick their viewing area on the grassy hill of the outdoor amphitheatre in Clarkston, Michigan. We call those people "seat holders," and they're fancier than "hill folk." What to Bring to Pine Knob

While some lawn seat concert goers may choose to bring their own lawn chair, the easiest way to sit on the hill is to bring a blanket. Sure, a seat is nice, but usually after the opening number, no one is sitting down anyway. Which leads me to another thing: those of us who are too cheap to pony up for an actually assigned seat know: wear comfortable shoes to Pine Knob.
