You could take your cash winnings and leave or you can do what this Kent County man did and use that money to buy more scratch off tickets to try and win even more money.

A 54-year-old man who has chose to remain anonymous did just that and turned $20 into $2 million.

“Every once in a while, I’ll buy a $2 ticket, but I typically don’t play the $20 games. I stopped to get gas, so I grabbed a $2 Blackjack ticket while I was cashing out and scratched it while my gas was pumping.

“I won $20, so I went back inside to cash it. I debated using my winnings on two $10 tickets, but the $2,000,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier ticket caught my eye, so that’s what I went with. I scratched the ticket when I got in my car and went into shock when I saw how much I’d won. I don’t think it’s going to fully hit me that I won $2 million until I cash the check!”

The man recently took a trip to Michigan Lottery headquarters to cash in his winning ticket.

He decided to take his prize money as a one-time lump sum payment of around $1.3 million rather than annuity payments for the full amount of $2 Million.

With the newfound money he plans to buy a house, take a vacation, and then save the remainder.

This lucky winner isn't the only person to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.

A man visiting Michigan from Maryland recently won $1,000,000 playing a Lucky Numbers instant win ticket.

A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.

And an Oakland County woman playing Fantasy 5 online accidentally selected a wrong number that resulted in her winning $250,000.
