Here’s Your Sidepiece: Grand Rapids’ New Late-Night Bodega For Tex-Mex Munchies
Have you ever been sitting on your couch late at night dreaming about crushing something you absolutely shouldn't have from Taco Bell? You know it would taste incredible, but the havoc it would wreck on your insides tomorrow wouldn't be worth the late night reward.
What if you could have that same satisfying calorie load, all while getting a better, cleaner, and locally made version? Then- you too should enjoy having your own Sidepiece.
No, I'm not saying you need to download Tinder.
Sidepiece is the newest late-night spot, specifically a bodega-style take-out window, offering all of your wildest Tex-Mex-inspired late-night eats. The menu is full of things that will satisfy nearly every craving you can have during the hours you know you shouldn't be going crazy. Their menu ranges from your standard homemade mozz sticks and burgers, to barria ramen and taquitos that will make you forget about that drive-thru you used to cruise through.
My favorite part? it's all easy to order online, or in person at their window on Wealthy Street.
They also offer a variety of snacks, chips and drinks to go along with your meal to give you the full bogeda experience. Plus, everyone loves a one stop shop.
My husband and I have made a new weekend tradition of picking up their barria ramen and papas fiestas (think- better version of the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes from TB) to accompany our movie nights.
No judgement here- if the reason you have the munchies is because you've had a few, don't worry- you can order delivery to be brought to your door so you don't have to miss a second of your party.
I am obsessed with this new concept from Basalt owner, Steven Martinez, and I think once you try it- you will be too. Make sure you follow them on Instagram so you can drool over their food in the meantime.
Speaking of more great places you should try...
