5 Uniquely Grand Rapids Things You’ll Only Find at Gerald R Ford International Airport
Grand Rapids is lucky to have a world class airport in our back yard. Gerald R Ford International Airport (GRR) is one of the top-rated airports in the country, and it's arguably one of the best ones of its size in the country.
I frequently fly out of GRR, and the recent renovations have really transformed the place to be one of the nicest-looking airports in the country.

But my favorite of the renovations? How many uniquely Grand Rapids things you'll find while walking around the terminal waiting for your next flight. These little details will make you appreciate the best things about home while you're traveling to see someone else's hometown.
The (mini) Kent District Library location
Just past TSA, nestled behind Starbucks you'll find this adorable little library full of books from the Kent District Library for you to enjoy while you're traveling.
The best part, you can easily drop it back off after your return flight for someone else to enjoy. (Don't worry, you don't need a library card. Think of this more like one of those little libraries.)
The Uccello's location inside Concourse A
Sure, you could hit up any of their other locations any other day of the year- but you're like me and try to get to the airport early, it's nice to be able to get some of Grand Rapids' favorite Italian food before you take off.
Grabbing a beer at The Founders just past TSA
Lets be honest, even the most law abiding and experienced traveler can agree that TSA can be frustrating or overwhelming.
So, why not celebrate right past the checkpoint with one of our biggest local breweries? (Or, just because you're about to head out somewhere that won't have the luxury of having it on tap like we do.)
The Blue Bridge Market
Paying tribute to one of the most iconic sights of the Grand Rapids downtown skyline, The Blue Bridge market serves tons of Michgian products, as well as some of the best hot grab and go food I've had at any airport in the US
Speaking of those Michigan products...
Grabbing a Cup of Madcap Coffee
While there is a Starbucks in GRR, you can also grab a cup of Justin Beiber's favorite coffee, Grand Rapid's own Madcap. While it's not it's own stand alone location inside the mall, it's nice to get a cup of the good stuff before you head out.
