Meet Mary Free Bed’s Newest And Cutest ‘Dog’tor: Faith
The Doctors and staff at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation preform small miracles daily helping adults and children of West Michigan.
While we think of doctors, nurses, and physical therapists being the core part of the staff that helps get people back to their everyday lives, they aren't the only ones on staff that are happy to lend a hand (Or, should I say paw) to the cause.
While Mary Free Bed already has one non-human staff member, Vandy. Now the family is growing, and they're happy to welcome the newest staff member with a wagging tail and wet nose: Faith.
According to a release from Mary Free Bed, Faith is a 3-year-old golden retriever. And while she’s technically not a ‘dog-tor,’ she is still a highly-trained specialist in her field.
She is an Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) Dog. Which is still a pretty important job- because being an AAT therapy specialist takes tons of time and hours of training. So, while Faith may look like your average house pet, she's an expert in her field.
Faith got her "Doggree" from the experts at Paws with a Cause, after learning with them for 2 years (Which is14 dog years for anyone at home counting!)
In fact, Michele Suchovsky, who is the CEO of Paws With A Cause was happy to brag about all of the great work Faith has done so far-
We are so excited to continue our partnership with Mary Free Bed. As a member of the Mary Free Bed Guild, I have a strong connection to the life-changing work that takes place in the rehabilitation center. With similar missions, it only makes sense for PAWS and Mary Free Bed to continue joining forces to empower patients and families in need of extra support. The placement of any PAWS Dog goes far beyond their cute and fluffy exterior. Our staff intentionally selected and custom-trained Faith to accompany Vandy. Her personality and working drive matched the needs of the hospital. After many months of training, we know Faith will make a fantastic addition to the Mary Free Bed team.
So Faith's expertise will make her a great addition to the team.
As you can tell, Faith is pretty doggone excited about her new job at Mary Free Bed, and she'll be taking her job very seriously. (with a few breaks to play, too.)
