Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. Today’s first tip is to always be very quiet and gentle when your little one first wakes up from a nap. Just like your average adult, babies are cranky when they first wake up. Normally Charlotte loves playing peekaboo and getting kisses and tickles, but if you do it when she first wakes up, she screams bloody murder! So when you’re waking your sweet baby up from a nap be sure to take it easy while they wake up because if you just start playing with them right away you’ll probably have a crying baby.
  2. The next tip isn’t really a tip, it’s more of an update. If you remember a few months ago I talked about how Charlotte had a really long butt crack. Well, I’m here to tell you now that she is finally growing into it! It turns out that a lot of baby’s butt cracks might seem long when they are in their first few months of life, but then as they put on more weight their little butts plump up and the crack doesn’t look as long. So let’s all give Charlotte a big congrats for growing into her buttcrack!
  3. The final tip for the week is to be sure to talk back to your baby when they are talking gibberish to you. Charlotte makes a lot of noises and sounds that sound like words, but aren’t but we are always sure to talk back to her so she realizes that we use these sounds to communicate. So don’t just ignore these weird noises. Have a conversation back with your baby. And if you don’t know what to say then just repeat the noises he or she makes. That’s what I do a lot.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad joke!

Q: What did the ocean say to the beach?
A: Nothing, it just waved.
