Nutrisca dry dog food is grain free - but not vitamin D free. In fact, it looks like certain bags got a little too much vitamin D. And that's not good for your dog. So, a nationwide recall is underway. According to ABC57, in South Bend, too much vitamin D in dogs can cause:dehydration, weight loss or renal dysfunction, loss of appetite, excessive drooling and vomiting. (who knew?)

Since this is a nationwide recall, it affects Michigan.

The bags to look for are selected bags of the 4, 15 and 28 pound bags of Nutrisca Chicken and Chickpea Dry Dog Food. You'll have to check the UPC codes to find out if you have one of the recalled bags.

Along with the nationwide recall of the Nutrisca dog food, is a regional recall of selected bags of the 17.5 lb. Natural Life Chicken & Potato Dry Dog Food.
