Michigan Home of Horror: 61 Dogs Found Amid Dead Pets and Filth

The worst offenders are those who choose to hurt women, children, and animals.

On Tuesday, February 17, Michigan police serving a search warrant stumbled upon a disturbing scene.

According to officials from the Flint Police Department, when officers entered a home on Elms Road, they discovered 61 dogs and three cats living in terrible conditions.

The animals were surrounded by piles of feces and rotting furniture.

After searching the house, officers found an additional 26 dead dogs and one dead cat in trash bags near the front door.

The scene was not only visually disturbing but also posed health risks to the officers.

The ammonia levels inside the home were so severe that officers reported burning sensations in their eyes and lungs.

It became necessary for them to take turns removing both the living and deceased animals.

An official from the Flint Police Department stated that this appalling situation did not happen overnight:

“This was not a temporary lapse in judgment. Conditions like this do not arise suddenly; this was prolonged suffering. We documented everything and removed every living animal despite facing physically revolting and emotionally draining conditions because those animals had no one else to help them in that moment."

I sincerely hope that every dog and cat rescued from that home receives the medical attention they need and is eventually put up for adoption, finding a forever home filled with the love and care they deserve.
