Nickelodeon Will Show First Ever Same-Sex Married Couple on Cartoon Today [Video]

Nickelodeon is making history today. For the first time ever a same-sex married couple will appear on their network. The couple will appear on the cartoon, The Loud House. 

But not only is the couple the same sex but they are also interracial. The characters are being voiced by Wayne Brady and Michael McDonald. 

In the episode, "Overnight Success," the main character, Lincoln, invites his friend over for a sleepover who arrives with both of his Dads, the McBride's. In the scene, the dads are making a big deal about their son's first sleepover, which is nothing out of the ordinary for any parent (gay or straight). You can watch the clip below.

It's actually a very funny scene and I think Nickelodeon did a good job of addressing it without making a big deal that there is a same-sex couple. I also like the subtle addition when Lincoln says "This is it. Time to make history" before answering the door.
