People who live in Caledonia need to prepare as Consumers Energy has announced that power will be off for thousands late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Consumers put out a release on March 30 stating that they, along with ITC Michigan, will be doing upgrades to a substation in the area.
The work is expected to begin around 11 p.m. on Friday, April 3, and should be restored no later than 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 4.
According to the release from Consumers, roughly 3,200 customers will be affected. The affected customers live in the area around Cherry Valley Ave., south of 84th St., and north of 108th St.
If your home or business will be affected, you should have received a postcard in the mail informing you of the planned work and outage.
If you are in the affected area, you are encouraged to sign up for alerts from Consumers Energy for the latest information on the outage and when your power should be restored.
