Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. The first Daddy Tip has to do with voting. No matter how young your little one is, you should always take them to go vote with you. Yesterday was the Michigan Primary and Britt and I took Charlotte with us to the polling location. Not only did we get an awesome sticker for her but we also got to hear a woman at the polling location say with a straight face “she’s not allowed to vote” as I wheeled her back to the voting area in her stroller. Seriously, we are pretty sure that the woman wasn’t joking. So, when November rolls around, take your little ones with you when you go vote because it’s never too early to expose your child to the Democratic process! And like I said before, you’ll get an extra sticker.
  2. The next tip is to trust your gut. You know your baby better than anyone else, so you know when something isn’t right. Charlotte has had several ear infections in her short life and almost every time Britt and I didn’t notice Charlotte was sick until she started to show physical signs like eye gunk in the morning, or a nose so stuffy she couldn’t breathe through it. But this most recent time we just noticed that she was kinda off. She wasn’t acting like herself, but she was barely showing any physical signs of being sick. So we took her to the doctor and we are glad we did because she needed to get antibiotics. So don’t worry about making too many appointments with your doctor, you know your baby better than anyone else.
  3. The final Daddy Tip has to do with kids TV shows. My tip is to start them young with a show you like, or if you don’t like any kids shows, one that you don’t completely hate. I’m lucky because I’ve never stopped liking kids shows, so pretty much anything is good for me. But, I also like to find weird kids shows, and I did just that when I found an awesome South Korean cartoon show called Titipo. It’s a show about trains, but more importantly, it has this awesome song:

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!

I just have one thing to say to the guy who invented the number zero…
Thanks for nothing!
