Summer-Like Weather on the Way to West Michigan for Memorial Day

After a few days of cooler temperatures and rain, the forecast for West Michigan is starting to look up.

FOX-17 meteorologist Erik Kostrzewa reports that the cooler air and rain will move out of West Michigan and make way for temperatures into the 70s beginning Wednesday.

No rain is expected in the area until Saturday evening, which is a welcomed thing to see for those living in areas that are currently experiencing flooding. We could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Furthermore, we could see temperatures near or at 80 degrees on Memorial Day itself.

Most of West Michigan will not be celebrating the long holiday weekend as they usually do with family get togethers, barbecues and parades, but we'll still be able to get outside and enjoy some beautiful weather.

The extended forecast from both FOX-17 and the Weather Channel show rain for most of next week (not so great for the flooding situation), but temperatures are expected to remain in the 70s.

Speaking of flooding, several roads in and around Grand Rapids remain closed due to flooding caused by the heavy rains over the weekend and into this week. You can keep up with all of the reopenings of the roads on the Kent County Road Commission's Facebook page.
