A long winter awaits with the safety and independence of many Kent County seniors relying on help from others to provide snow removal.

Support Kent County senior citizens by helping to continue snow removal efforts.

Steepletown Neighborhood Services serves the west side of Grand Rapids through a variety events, educational opportunities and more.

Steepletown's snow removal services are supported through Kent County Senior Millage funding. Seniors pay a cost-share amount based on household income. The cost share can be as low as zero dollars.

Steepletown also supports Kent County seniors with lawn care services and household chores. The total number of seniors they work with has seen a big increase in the last few years with 103 in 2017, 119 in 2018, and 135 in the first six months of 2019.

A large part of the reason for the increase is that Steepletown was asked by the Area Agency on Aging of West Michigan to provide additional snow removal services for seniors in 2018 which nearly doubled the number of seniors that received snow removal services from Steepletown.

Steepletown has started a Go Fund Me page to ask for financial assistance to support their efforts providing lawn care and snow removal services for seniors on the west side of Grand Rapids.

Donations are 100% tax deductible for this fundraiser with a goal of $15,000.
