Michigan Trader Joe’s Stores Recalling Fried Rice That May Contain Glass Shards
If you, like me, are a fan of the fried rice from Trader Joe's, I have some bad news for you. The company has announced that it's recalling one of its varieties of fried rice.

I first learned of this from an email directly from Trader Joe's (do they know me, or do they really know me?) So I decided to dig into it a little more.
What We Know About the Trader Joe's Fried Rice Recall
The good news is that this isn't a recall on all of their varieties of fried rice.

Trader Joe's is specifically recalling its 20-oz. plastic bags of frozen Trader Joe's Chicken Fried Rice with stir-fried rice, vegetables, seasoned dark chicken meat, and eggs. The affected packages have "best by" dates of 9/8/2026 through 11/17/2026.
(Another variation of their fried rice is also being recalled, but that product was only shipped to Trader Joe's stores in Canada.)
Why is Trader Joe's Chicken Fried Rice Being Recalled?
According to the email that I received from the company, Trader Joe's is recalling the fried rice because it "may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically glass." It's important to note that there have been no reports of injury related to this recall.
What to Do if You Have Some of the Recalled Trader Joe's Fried Rice?
If you find a package of the recalled fried rice in your freezer, do not eat it. Instead, throw it away and visit any Trader Joe's to be issued a full refund.
If you have any questions related to the recall, you're encouraged to contact Trader Joe's directly at (626) 599-3817 or contact them via their website.
