
Michigan Driver Survives Rare Turkey Collision on I-96
With roughly 50,000 car accidents involving deer happening each year in Michigan, most drivers are aware of the danger of hitting one during hunting season.

But a Michigan man had a very unexpected collision while driving on the highway.
This one didn't involve a deer; instead, it involved another animal that is also currently active because it’s being hunted.
Turkey Flies Through Michigan Driver's Windshield
A Michigan man is lucky to be alive after a turkey, about the size of a butterball, flew through his windshield.
According to the Michigan State Police, the collision happened on Thursday as the young man was heading east on I-96 near Fowlerville Road in Livingston County.

It's incredible that the driver didn't sustain any injuries and was able to safely get his truck to the side of the road without causing an accident.
The turkey on the other hand wasn't so luckily.

Michigan State Police gave a friendly reminder to be on the lookout for turkeys, because from April 19 to June 7, it’s turkey hunting season in Michigan.
During this time, these flying fowl may be more active as they try to avoid hunters.
I keep looking at the picture of the turkey on the windshield, and I can't get over how amazing it is that the driver was able to escape unharmed while also avoiding an accident.
