The collision, which occurred in the popular recreation area known for its off-road vehicle activities, has raised concerns about safety at the dunes, especially following a tragic incident earlier this year.

Witnesses reported that the young man was riding his dirt bike when he collided with a Jeep.

The impact was severe enough to send him flying off the bike, but fortunately, he survived with only minor injuries.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and he was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Authorities have not released his name but confirmed that he is expected to make a full recovery.

This incident comes on the heels of a tragic event that took place earlier this year at Silver Lake Sand Dunes, where a 33-year-old woman named Kadie Price lost her life in a similar accident involving a modified Jeep.

Price was struck by the vehicle after it veered out of control during a high-speed run on the dunes.

The Oceana County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating that incident, focusing on whether the Jeep’s modifications contributed to the crash.

Sheriff Craig Mast noted that the dunes typically see very few serious accidents, but the recent fatalities have prompted renewed discussions about safety regulations in the area.
