On Tuesday night, pop trio AJR brought their signature mix of chaos, heart, and full-blown spectacle to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston. But this time, something (and someone) was missing.

Adam Met, the eldest brother and bassist, has taken the year off from live performances to focus on his climate change advocacy work.

While his presence was missed, brothers Jack and Ryan more than made up for it with a high-energy, visually electric set that ended in a way only AJR fans could expect: Big, bold, and absolutely unforgettable.
The night’s grand finale came in the form of a local surprise: the Walled Lake Marching Band joined the group on stage to perform “Weak,” transforming the already dramatic closing number into a full-blown celebration.

Streamers shot through the air, fireworks exploded above the stage, and the crowd lost it as east Michigan marching band filled the void Adam left behind with brass, drums, and undeniable hype.

Videos posted from both Pine Knob and fans alike, really give you an idea of how massively epic this was for the crowd that showed up to sweat it out with the band that night.

The AJR brothers’ next chapter starts soon. Their highly anticipated upcoming EP “What No One is Thinking” is set to release on August 29, and with any luck, that means another tour (and another Michigan stop) in late 2025 or early 2026.
