Everybody has had that one neighbor that is just an absolute crapshoot of a neighbor. We want you to share the worst story you have about that person.

TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What did your neighbors do to “tick you off”?

  • They moved in a few years ago. Turned a once nice place, into a junk yard. A literal junk yard. They at one point lost their dumpster, lack of payment I'm sure. We live right outside of town, so country-ish. So they proceeded to fill their 2 car ATTACHED garage with their garbage. It was literally wall to wall, floor to ceiling. They have dozens of animals. Our cat once went there, came back with fleas. She was banished to the garage. They have probably 30 cars all over their lawn. None work. They do demos at the fair in the summer. They haven't mowed their lawn in years. They have like 10 people living in a tiny 2 bedroom house. Since moving in, they have acquired the empty lot next to them, which is now the home of all dead mattresses. Literally dozens of mattresses. They don't spay/neuter their animals, so they continue to breed. Their daughter, whom was maybe 11 at the time, busted out all the windows of our little bus stop house, all because my husband prevented her and her friends from busting out the windows of the church. They had a lady living in a tent in their back yard for a long time. I think she now lives in her car in the driveway.. The list goes on and on.... All our complaints to the county, get us no where. Please don't use our names on the radio if it makes it there....they are the retaliating kind of people...
  • oh Lord where do I begin with my neighbor..... It started when they started using our dumpster to put their two weeks worth of trash in... I should have started with we do live in the country on a 20-acre horse farm they own the 10 acres right next door... they shoot guns off their back porch and scare are horses... That brings us to the 4th of July and their fireworks show which scared the crap out of our horses and we had four of them running loose... Then it's the police showing up at their door because of domestic violence... That brings us to their dogs that they feed when they want to which causes them to bark a lot... I really wish they would just move far far far far far away!!!!
  • What haven’t my neighbors done. I share a driveway with them and I will shovel my side, they will actually use my side then to drive in and out!!! I shoveled the sidewalk for her when she was pregnant. Not even a thank you. I pulled into my driveway and got yelled at because she wanted to use my side to exit because she was parked in front of her husbands car.!! They have three little kids that throw toys on my side and I mow over them!! ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️ Rude as hell.
  • Our neighbors used our driveway for their garage sale. I was still parked in it. It was fun trying to leave to meet my family for my birthday lunch. They looked at me like I was insane for invading their garage sale!
  • My neighbors (whom I share a driveway with) have a nasty habit of not taking care of their trash. Especially their cans. They will set them outside of their door in untied bags. Well, being in the Midwest, we'll often have very windy weather. There has been half a dozen times over the last year where cans have blown all over into my yard, my side of the driveway. Not a bad thing, but most of these cans still have a swig or two of soda in them. Totally gross especially given COVID.
  • They have like 3 boats and 3 non working cars plus 2 trailers in their front yard.. oh and a dryer!
  • We once had a neighbor who somehow thought he had rights to our driveway when he had a driveway on the other side of his house. He even rammed one of our parked cars once while we had company over to spite us. We had a survey done and hired an attorney but ended up relocating for work and selling the house before we finished the suit. We would have won though as he had no rights. It was so annoying. We learned through survey that we actually owned up to 12 inches from his house so we would have ultimately put a fence up had we stayed
  • I live in town....they allow their cats to wonder the streets...ugh! So frustrating. They stalk my birds and drive my dogs CrAzY
  • They built houses on land where longhorn cows used to be - I liked the cows as neighbors.
  • Allow soda cans to blow all over my yard and side of the driveway (we share a driveway). And they all usually have a swig or two of soda left in them. Totally gross. And we're not talking a few. I've had up to a dozen and a half in my yard. I pile them back in their yard.
  • There's several things, but most recently they shoveled the snow from their balcony onto our walk and front steps and didn't bother to come clean it up.
  • Total asshat already yelled at me from his deck saying “I think that is my dogs toy in your yard, can you throw it back...if you can throw that far!?” OHMYGOD you said you wanted me to throw it right in your face right?!
  • Nothing I legit have the best neighbors no Karen’s living next door to me
  • Admitting to drowning any animals he catches in his traps (possums, cats etc.
  • Nothing. My parents live next door. It was a godsend when my kids were little.
  • Put trash in their dumpster & slamming the lid outside my bedroom window at 2am.
  • Ours became drug dealers
  • They threw up on my car
  • Pepper spayed my kids.....in our yard...
  • Bought beagles They never stop howling
  • Their twins are the loudest, most whiney, snotty little crotch gobblins I've ever seen. Their mother isn't any better... ugh
  • For context, we live on a shared farm property through my husband's work. My (thankfully now ex) neighbors didn't watch their 7 year old AT ALL. She would throw rocks/sticks/trash into our outdoor dog run, ride our 5 yr olds bike(after she broke her own), and would sneak onto our trampoline and use it along with her cousin(we told her and her parents that she could use it ONLY if they were supervising her bc god forbid she were to break an arm/leg and no one was around, this was blatantly ignored and we had to put a lock on the safety net so they couldn't use it when we weren't home). All of this, plus we noticed some of our tools go missing out of the barn, and lo and behold they appeared on their front porch
  • We actually have quite a bit of distance from neighbors on both sides! They also like the same music we do when they play it loud on a sunny afternoon. Lol I’d say the worst is when it was a holiday and I assume their family brought a dog and left it tied outside and kept barking at 10pm when we were trying to sleep but it was one time.
  • Our driveway was 5ft from the back of our neighbors house. Their bathroom window was right next to where we would park out car. They had a glass block window and it was in their shower. The glass block blurred what we could see through the window but we could definitely see them showering. It was always super awkward when we were getting in or out of our car and they were showering. We assumed they didn’t know we could see them naked but couldn’t figure out how they didn’t know we could see them. One day I was getting my 4 kids into my van and the guy was showering. I then hear a knock. I pretended like I didn’t hear it and tried to hurry my kids. And then I hear another knock. The guy was knocking on his shower window to get my attention. I threw my kids in the van and drove away. I have no idea what the guy was knocking for but from that time on I tried to avoid him at all costs.
  • Almost 3 years ago the house next door went up for sale. I was interested in buying it but as soon as I found the price it was sold. No one has lived there since, the yard has been mowed twice and they have only spent one weekend working on it.
  • We let our front yard go one spring and the neighbors reported us to the city. We had the yard mowed twice before the inspector came out
  • Live in an apt, the ppl downstairs are the worst ppl I’ve ever encountered as neighbors. Smoke cigs and pot CONSTANTLY, have dogs over that bark all the time (it’s an old lady that lives there and ppl bring their dogs over), have loud ass parties anytime during the week, there’s a constant parade of ppl that come through, always pounding on the doors, they fight a lot so listening to yelling, shouting, pounding, physical fights..last weekend, they had ppl over and someone shot at someone else landlord is trying to get them evicted but courts are slow bc of covid. Can’t wait to get my own house.
  • Not following the Covid 19 guidelines and having LARGE gatherings. I’ve witnessed so many selfish people throughout this pandemic. It’s sad.
  • One Friday night around 1am, they blasted music so loud my walls literally vibrated and a mirror fell off and shattered all over the living room floor. I tried to knock on the door and ask them to turn down the music but it was to loud for them to hear me knock so I finally called the cops and filed a noise complaint. I had to be at work at 6am the next morning. I came after a 12 hour shift and found a note on my door saying I had to pay them for calling the cops. Needless to say I did not renew my lease.
  • Our neighbors stole our garbage can last winter. I watched the neighbor take it while I was 8 months pregnant. I couldn’t run down the stairs and put my winter boots on fast enough to say anything had to call the company and have a new can replaced a… See More
  • Called in a noise complaint when my generator was running during a power outage
  • Sent their kids into our shed to help themselves to my husbands tools and yard equipment. Then didn't return them until the hubby saw them laying in their yard. They moved and now it's nice and quiet here!
  • Did wonders for neighbors property values
  • One neighbor threatened me and my children on a daily basis, with their dog, and guns. They stole my moms cat, and locked him in a hot camper in 85 degree weather. They keyed my car, and slashed my tire. My kids lost an entire summer! They also purposely ran over my pregnant cat. No survivors. Police did nothing to help.
  • Have 2 little yappers that would bark constantly while my kids played in the backyard and wouldn't do anything. The guy actually encouraged the dogs to "get em". Those dogs have since passed, but have been replaced by new ones. They bark, too, but we go say hi and then all is good.
  • At my old house they had a massive party and played music so loud the walls shook and rattled.
  • When we were looking to purchase our current home the gentlemen across the street stopped our truck and said you should buy a house on the next block the roof leaks (which was brand new). I picked up the phone and made an offer on the home. 8 years later he still gives me the stink eye.
  • Shoot a BB gun with their kids and break two of my windows then try to deny it. When I have the BB and photos of adults and kids shooting the gun. We live in the city.
  • Ours cut down 2 of the main trees that were in between our houses and provided the main shade in our yard....now our yard is bare af and my shade garden basically died off. Also, every year he mows his yard a little further over onto ours like he think its his or something
  • Leaf blows all the leaves from his yard through the fence onto our property every Fall. Literally have watched him waving his leaf blower up in the air at the trees.. last year I got the riding lawn mower out, mowed all the leaves up and blew them back into his yard, not 10 minutes later he was back outside with the leaf blower. Never seen someone so against nature.
  • Left their dogs outside no matter what the weather, with no food or water for days
  • Where do I even begin?? So we lived in an association and one day we were sent a letter “from the board” giving us three days to take care of our weeds or we would be fined (they were succulents from my grandmother) turns out it was the neighbor. While we were in the process of moving out she WALKED THROUGH OUR HOUSE one night while we were in our new home and told the president it was and I quote a mess and there were toys every where! We left toys behind while we fixed up some things so our kids had something to do! That ended getting her in trouble because she had no business doing any of that as a meme we of the board. Can you say power hungry much? Needless to say she no longer has a spot on the board
  • When it was just my girls and I years ago, neighbors downstairs from me had a birthday party for their son, someone parked me in and said "I was just dropping off a gift" but were there for 3 hours and wouldn't move their car so I could go to work. Landlord or cops didn't do anything. I didn't make it to work that night. car was still there in the morning.
  • Oh, this is right up our alley. We live in a suburban small cul de sac full of families and elderly. The home next to us- oh my. The Mom moved out a couple of years ago and left the teenage boys there. They are now 19 and 23ish. It’s like living next to a fraternity in the middle of a family neighborhood. It’s exhausting- loud cars speeding up and down the road, so many parties with cars up and down the road. Super not fun. Always try to give the benefit of the doubt- still, no respect. I’m not even a super old crab ass. I get being young! But damn, it’s hard to have this in a neighborhood of kiddos and working parents. Send.Help. Please. Haha/ dramatic but true!
  • Almost every neighbor I had when I lived in an apartment was awful. Between falling down drunks, kids using the apartment as a racetrack, dogs barking all night long, parties in the middle of the week and the elephants that walks through the apartment above me and that doesn't even include the downstairs neighbor, the pot smoke was enough to get the whole building High. I finally had enough and now I live in my own house and my new neighbors are great couldn't ask for better neighbors now.
  • I live in a mobile home park, so there isn’t a lot of yard space in between homes. Our neighbor had moved in with three little ankle biter dogs, which is one above the maximum limit. They would let all three dogs out and let them roam freely to do their business and go back inside. Per guidelines all pets are to be on a leash or tie out. We would come home and try to walk inside and the dogs would start growling and barking at us, they but my moms pant leg as she was walking into my home. We reported their activity several times with nothing ever done. One day I let my dog outside on her tie out and go grab my toothbrush and start brushing my teeth watching her from inside. Next thing I know the daughter let’s all three dogs out at the same time and they start attacking my dog. I bolt down the stairs to try and get my dog and they start attacking both of us. I finally am able to get my dog and myself inside. I get her some treats and tell her she was a good girl, call my fiancé, then I notice blood on the carpet. I panic and notice my dog had been bit. I grab my car keys and Marched into the leasing office to report the incident. They tell me that they need PROOF that it was a dog bite, the photos I had taken weren’t good enough. So you bet your ass I mad a vet appointment because who knows what diseases those dogs had and I was getting PROOF it was a dog bite. Unbelievable! So I take my poor baby to the vet, sure enough they confirm it is indeed a dog bite, I said I hate to ask but can I get that in writing. No problem, we leave the vet and I March my happy ass to the leasing office AGAIN, they tell me they will look into it. Within the next few days we get notice that the park had told our neighbors all three of their dogs had to go and they weren’t allowed to have any more animals in the home.
  • Our upstairs neighbors have teenage boys that think it’s ok to fight and push their mom. And the stomping, don’t even get me started. One teenage boy smokes pot out of his window. The stomping or the jumping on a bed feels like they are going to come through our ceiling. I got woke up one morning from them fighting. I thought someone broke into our apartment. I hate living here.
  • Besides accusing my son of stealing a bike he won in front of a ton of people she also accused me and told my bf I screwed hers idek his name nor did it happen
  • One of the neighbors enjoys riding his quad at 2am. Another one is always out target practicing with various guns. Give it a rest man. My dog goes nuts!
  • Snow blowed snow/ice ONTO my house. So I got a zoning ordinance permission from my township to put a 6' privacy fence on my property line. Which happens to be the edge of one side of his driveway. He continued blowing onto my FENCE, and my property. So I got my lawyer involved, with the help of a clear township ordinance, in sending a lovely letter stating basically, do it again and I file a complaint with the township. I live in GR, MI and we are expecting snow tonight... Stay tuned lol!!
  • Shine their car lights into our house while warming up their car in the morning....technically not next door but across the street. It's highly annoying because it's so bright it burns through closed curtains....
  • live in an apt....the girl next to me had felon after felon after felon living with her in 1 YEAR. Cops were called at least once a week, they'd party til 2 am almost every night (mind you I have a 10 yr old and I need to be up at 6am for work), asking for handouts, rides to the store, etc not just from me but our other 2 neighbors downstairs. We finally had enough and she eventually got evicted for having people live with her. I moved to not have so much housework outside by myself, now I am looking for a house again because I miss the peace it brung.
  • Let their dog poop in our yard every single day, never clean it up even after we repeatedly asked them to please clean up after it.
  • My brothers are my neighbors, one lives right across the road and the other lives just down the road a little. Both have a lot of drama in their lives! Lets just say its never boring or quiet.
  • My parents had a neighbor that diddle his neice like 15 years ago and only just got in trouble for it a few years ago. We haven't seen his face since he got released early last year. Their kid was awful in his younger years too. Used to light off fireworks at the neighbors houses in the middle of the night. So glad I don't live there anymore.....
  • Nothing. We live in a farmhouse surrounded by cornfields. The best neighbors are NO neighbors!!!
  • I'm not someone who is against bully breed dogs, but my neighbors have 2. Their dogs have even head butted the fence between our yards to get to my dog. I have an 8lbs chihuahua. I swear they let their dogs out right as I let mine out. It's even come to the point where in our fenced in yard, I still keep her on a leash because I don't trust them.
  • Played loud Mexican music till all hours of the night and left trash put for weeks. Plus hot puppies and left them shut in their garage for weeks in the hot summer. Thankfully, she's gone
  • Current neighbors are great. Former neighbors would come home at 2AM on their very loud motorcycles.
  • We have a school next door and they took it upon themselves to plow the entire sidewalk with a truck with a plow thus completely tearing up our yard causing us to have to spend time and money to repair come spring. Ask them to quit and they still continue. So fishing annoyed by this
  • Neighbors called the police on me for partying in my backyard lol, wasn’t really mad, $375 later I put up a privacy fence
  • My neighbors where redoing their roof and they threw the shingles into my fenced in backyard!!!!!
  • TQOTD... But years ago I was living in a low income apartment in Battle Creek. I lived on the third floor, and two floor directly below me lived a Battle Creek Police Officer. One day, the officer left his door unlocked while he went to work for the day, and while he was out, someone broke in and stole everything of value from his apartment. Out of spite after he found out, he brought the police drug dogs through our complex, and arrested everyone that they found in possession (at the time, pot was still illegal, so lots of people were caught...). Out of the 12 units in the complex, 9 of them were arrested and all that were left were me, the cop, and the little old lady down the hall... The cop moved out the next week, and then there were only 2... Honestly the silence was kinda nice, but I got along well with the neighbors, so it sucked pretty bad when they were all arrested...
  • This neighbors dog was at my yard for eight days in a row. Each day I took the dog home and they never said thanks or kma. On the north day the dog snapped at me and had pooped in my yard AGAIN. So I got an empty bread bag, put it over my hand and picked up the poop, pulling the bag over the poop. Then I tied the bag on the dogs collar and sent it home. The neighbor let the dog in the house. Wish I knew what happened inside. The man drove next door to my house and yelled at me for being a rotten neighbor and Began to make threats, so I dialed 911 and made a police report and now this situation put a smile on many police officers when they are having a bad day.
  • Believe it or not, they were murderers. It took place in Oklahoma. It appeared that they had moved out of their side of the duplex. Then we saw their faces on the local news as wanted suspects in a murder case. They were on the run, eventually captured, sent to death row in Oklahoma and eventually executed. To this day I can’t believe I had many conversations with them and actually complained to them about making too much noise.
  • Neighbor Ran a meth lab for literally 4 yrs -All hidden behind piles of decaying cars , motor home , snowmobiles, lawn mowers. Yeah ... sadly the local Barney fife / Mayberry law enforcement / township clowns KNEW - and literally laughed about it
  • My old neighbors used to throw garbage out their second story window. Like old carpet rolls...trash bags. Couches. And just leave it there.
  • Omg! They asked if they could park their new camper on my property for a month or two. I said yes of course, then I heard them cutting down trees on my property! I'm like what is happening, he's like I needed room for my truck to back up camper. Ok.......then someone starts living in the camper, and three more cars parked on my property! I live in a development btw! Its been a year. Pretty much they are taking advantage of me being a single mom. I'm putting up a plastic fence this week because their jerk dog keeps running over the cleared area they cleared and trying to bite my daughter. So there is that!
  • My neighbor trained her dog to poop in my yard because her "husband left and there's no one to clean it up now!" .... I wonder why her husband left!?!?
