What Is A Gift You Wanted As A Child That You Didn’t Get That You Are Still Frustrated About? – #TQOTD
GREEN MACHINE! Remember that Big Wheel from back in the day? That’s all I wanted … EVER!!! Everytime this conversation comes up it breaks my ginger heart all over again.
TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What is a gift you wanted as a child that you didn’t get that you are still frustrated about?
- American Girl Doll and a Barbie Jeep!
- I wanted a sibling but that didn't happen.
- On my 15th birthday, my parents gave me and my siblings news that within a year, we would be moving to a third-world country as missionaries. They promised we would have a huge yard and I could have a horse. We did move and I never got my horse. It’s a running joke in our family, but I sure wanted that horse for my 16th birthday.
- A PONY!
- This kitty that has baby kitties in her belly. I have always had some kinda feeling about this
- Trip to Ireland, My dad still won't let me go. I work for him, that is how he still stops me from going.
- Easy Bake Oven
- Power wheels car but by the time they came out I was "too old" for one. Really upset me when my cousin got one.
- I really wanted a bb gun for my 9th birthday, I got a fishing pole instead
- A golden retriever
- A large trampoline. We begged our parents every time we saw it at Sams Club
- A barbie Corvette the one where you can drive it
- Light up shoes
- Third grade halloween costume of sleeping beauty
- American Girl Doll: Samantha. They're selling the original version right now for $150 and my niece really REALLY thinks I need to buy it "for myself".....
- Never got a weenie whistle lol
- Easy Bake Oven...although now I am an adult and have a real oven, I don't see what all the fuss was about
- American girl doll!! All my friends and cousins had them I was so jealous lol I would still love the Courtney doll in all her 80s glory
- Decent parents
- Growing up I would get a holiday Barbie every Christmas. My senior year of high school my dad thought I was grown out of it and didn’t get it for me. I cried Christmas morning and am still upset cause now my collection is missing that year! I buy them for myself every year now.
- American Girl Doll and brand name clothes
- A pink Nintendo DS
- The Felicity American Girl Doll
- I wanted a blue or silver 10 speed bike, but I got a red Huffy 3 speed instead.
- My daughter would say a motorized barbie car. Told her Santa couldn't fit it in his sleigh!
- Barbie dolls! My older sister hated anything Barbie so they assumed I did, too
- A dog
- A bumble ball I got one for Christmas one year and it was defective so it wouldn't even turn on. I never got a replacement
- A pony. God damn it, I just want the horse. And the cat and the dog and the goats and cows and pigs... I was a literal Alvira.
- A sit-n-spin
- Trip to Disney
- Blue clogs
- Baby alive. Now that I have children I don’t see the appeal.
- Doodle Bear. My cousins got one the Christmas I wanted it.
- I wanted a pool. I never got one, but my mom made sure the grandkids got one and on days they are not over, the adults take it over. So maybe I should say we eventually got one. LOL
- A Snoopy sno cone machine!
- a pager
- Can't think of anything. My mom and dad tried very hard to get the things I wanted most for birthday and Christmas. I wasn't spoiled... they were just awesome at that
- Power Wheels
- Last time I said the haircut play doh set and Steve said he went out and bought Charlotte that item…did she like it??
- A French horn of my own. It’s been on my Christmas list for 37 years.
- Got everything I wanted, usually. Maybe not right away… when Xmas or birthday came around.ummm yea maybe I was spoiled.
- Baby All Gone
- My husband and I both said Power Wheels. Obviously we had important kid stuff to do
- A talking thumbelina 🎎
- A cabbage patch doll or the cabbage patch pet koosa. I wanted one so bad & never got one.
- A cozy coupe. My cousin got one tho…
- I really wanted a 3-wheeler and was convinced that I was getting one. I got one but sadly it was a toy model that fit in my Christmas stocking. Never did get a real one.
- A snoopy sno-cone machine.
- The Pretty pretty princess board game. I have 2 little girls now, when they’re big enough for it, we will totally get one & play all the time!
- A chemistry set. My parents were always afraid I’d blow up the house
- I wanted to see Garth Brooks in concert. I didn’t get to go but my dad took my step-sister and then called me from the concert to let me listen…
- I wanted a Barbie Dream house so bad. But my Dad said they were expensive junkie plastic. So he built me one and you know I passed it down to my girls and now my GrandChildren so it really was an awesome gift after all.
- A HORSE!!! I always told my mom we can just put it in the backyard! Never happened and still bitter 40ish years later LMAO
- A Green Machine! Aw man, to go flying down the sidewalk and burn out...ooh. I'm determined to get an adult version.
- I really wanted a power wheels car. My neighbors had all had them growing up, now as an adult with 3 kids almost old enough I plan on getting all 3 of them their own lol can you tell I haven't let it go yet.
- Barbie Dream House. Instead I got a Rubbermaid tote to put my Barbies in and was told to pretend it was their dream house.
