I love this question. It popped into my head this past weekend when I was at an open house that had a food truck and I thought what a cool memory that would be if I was graduating High School. Then I started talking with Alicia and some buddies about fun flashback stories we had from when we were kids. The Click of 6 added many great ones to the list now. ENJOY:

TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
If you were asked ‘What is your best childhood memory?’ what would be the first thing that popped into your head?

  • Running through my daisy sprinkler in the summer time!!
  • Christmas at my grandparents! Wonderful meals, play time with the cousins who lived out of town….the coziness and happiness of it all.
  • Our family waterfights that always ended up in neighborhood water fights
  • Spending it at our cabin at Higgins Lake. And checking out cute boys
  • Hauling hay with my siblings and going right back to the lake to swim and cool off
  • The summer I got to go with my daddy, I was adopted at age 4 but my wonderful parents let me see my daddy all my life. The summer I was 11 I went to spend two weeks with him and his wife. It was a great two weeks. Sadly three weeks later he died off the coast of one of the Carolina’s. I miss him but those two weeks were the best.
  • 1st wrestling event in 95. Ringside watching Undertaker come out and then running to hid behind my dad cuz he looked scary AF. Also saw HBK, Bulldog, Razor, Yoko, Bulldog, and the champ, Big Daddy Cool.
  • So my sister and I had matching shirts that we wore everywhere. One day I was teaching her how to do a cartwheel and she ripped hers. She went inside, extremely upset. So I followed her to make sure she was OK. I felt bad, so to make her happy again, I intentionally ripped mine too. If she couldn't have her shorts, I wouldn't have mine either
  • Playing with all my cousins in the yard on any given day oh my God we had so much fun. Tetherball kickball dodgeball hide and seek building camps that was the life back in the day.
  • Summer camp! And having a pool in our backyard!
  • spending every summer in my late best friends pool
  • My dad playing with my barbie townhouse
  • Riding in the car with my mom, just the two of us talking.
  • My grandmother’s
  • Looking through the telescope with my grandpa on his back porch. Trying to find the man on the moon.
  • Christmas eve and morning
  • Camping with the entire family!!! At the family property.
  • Every weekend camping with my grandparents. And a good friend and my sister.
  • Playing outside with all of our neighbor friends, every day!!!!!
  • So many memories with my dad. But 2 that always come to mind are sitting on my dad's lap driving down the middle of town... me steering him shifting the gears. And then him teaching me to shoot in my grandma's backyard, using balloons as my target. God miss those days!
  • Going to Disney World with my Grandparents. Taking the station wagon and getting to sit in the rear facing seat on the 3 day trip to Florida. Memories.
  • When I was a teeny little munchkin, I remember one day when my dad came home from work and came straight into my room, still in his full motorcycle gear, to get me out of my crib and give me a hug. That's my earliest memory and one of my favorites
  • All the time I spent up in northern WI at the family cottage with my grandparents and great grandparents. I have 1 grandpa left and I would give anything to have another day with all 4 together again!
  • Spending a summer at my aunt and uncle's home.
  • Going camping with my parents and sister. And visiting my Aunts and Uncles in Minn.
  • Playing dodgeball in our cul de sac with all the neighbors kids.
  • Going fishing with my grandpa
  • I was really upset one day, sobbing to myself. Thinking of doing something stupid. And my cat was outside of my room. My cat meowed at the door increasing in volume. Then he started slamming his body into the door until I opened it for him. He ran in meowed at me and jumped onto my lap and started purring.
  • Mowing the church lawn with my grandpa. After he always asked me if I wanted to get a “beer” (root beer). Loved taking my own sons out for “beers” with their Great Grandpa, too.
  • Catching frogs at the lake with my cousin and my uncle to race at the fourth of July events at the cottage.
  • Sleepovers at my grandmas
  • Tiger stadium free bat day
  • Going camping every summer with my uncle and cousin, loved The Smokey Mountains.
  • Playing hide n seek with my brother and cousins on the farm!
  • Going fishing with my dad and sister
  • Best childhood memory: traveling with my family. Everyone was sleeping except me and my Daddy. I'd sit up right behind talking to him to help him stay awake. My last beautiful memory of him before I lost him he gave me a guardian angel that still hangs in my car today. Well always be my Daddy's Little Princess.
  • I'd have to say when we took my grandma to Michigan adventures and she wanted to ride the merry go round or Carousel and so I went on it with her. She was a little slow moving but I went ahead and picked two horses next to each other and hopped on one then waited for her to get on hers. Noticed she was having trouble getting on hers and said "grandma take mine it's lower". So we switched and she started getting on hers and had both hands on the bar and one leg across the horse ( just so you can picture it kinda looked like a dog cocking it's leg to pee) only half on. She went one turn around like that before finally getting on the horse all the way. Might not sound as funny as it looked but my grandma passed away when I was 10 and that's one of my last favorite memories of her. She truly was the best grandma
  • Celebrating mine and my brother’s birthday
  • Summers at my Grandma's place. All the cousins would be there, some of the aunts and uncles and we just played around outside. I remember this one time me and my cousin were going to go swimming. We were bummed because it was raining. My grandma gave us two of my grandpa's shirts. We put on our bathing suits and ran out into the rain and played. So fun
  • Not paying bills
  • Going to my grandparents’ house. My grandma would make the best grilled cheese sandwich with Velveeta cheese and loads of butter!
  • Traveling to Tacoma WA to visit my mom's side of the family, and staying with my Auntie Ruthie. We took the train (pre-Amtrak) twice, and flew once. My aunt's bathtub always smelled of Dial soap. Even now, the scent carries me back to summer in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Being a kid, me and my mom would stay at my grandma and grandpas some weekends and during the summer and we would stay up all night playing uno. You don't really think about the little moments until the people whom you shared them with are no longer here
  • Renting cottages with family and friends every summer. 6 cottages full of fun !!!
  • My 10th birthday. I got a horse for my birthday present. Best gift ever!
  • Our vacation to Bonaire It's the most amazing little island next to Aruba. Scuba diving is amazing, you can go cave exploring, windsurfing, and flamingo cove is breathtaking. They even have wild donkeys that roam the streets We made so many friends while we were there at the local island church. I would give anything to go back
