What’s a WEIRD smell you like?

  • Gas and oil. My dad was a mechanic and I love the smell of oil, gas and lubricans that you find in a garage!
  • The smell of pine trees after rain, regular leaded gasoline (does that even exist anymore?) and freshly lit cigarette-- which I stopped smoking almost 1 year now.
  • And a automotive shop.... all the tires oil and what not...... well not the stinky hard working smells just the cars.....
  • When I jog past silos filled with corn this time of year, it smells like bread to me...so good (not sure exactly what the smell is, though).
  • Sunburnt skin. I love the smell of someone's skin after they've been in the sun all day or the tanner. Probably just from memories of being outside in the summer
  • The smell of copy paper after you've just made a fresh copy
  • Diesel and my dads cologne. He was a truck driver and as a kid everytime I smelled that in the house I knew that my dad was home.
  • Racing fuel. My dad used to race stock cars. Reminds me of my childhood.
  • The Sulfur when you blow out a match.
  • Dirt, gasoline, sweaty man and tire shop. My fiancé used to work in a tire shop. He’d come home smelling like new tires and I loved it!
  • Old cardboard. I collect vynil and everytime i go in a slightly musty basement it smells like a pile of "new to me " vynil. It also smells like old books which i equally love
  • Ever since I quit smoking I love the smell of diesel fuel and the tar when they redo the roads.
  • Brand new CDs, like video games. As soon as they are unwrapped and opened I smell them lol. They small like super clean plastic. Some are really good smelling and some are just, eh.
  • Water from the hose. Has a different kind of smell other than faucet water.
  • I actually miss the smell of the Paper Mill here in Muskegon. It was disgusting to most people but to me it always meant Home!
  • Chainsaw exhaust! Saturday with dad went to the gas station to pick out a pop and a candy bar then went wood cutting!
  • Grew up on a farm in the middle of no where south Michigan so I love the smell of fresh tilled fields in the spring.
  • Crickets. Hubby used to work in a cricket farm and I still love the smell.
  • Highway exhaust smell... Reminds me of vacations when I was young.
  • Skunks. For some reason it never bothered me. Mechanics-wish they made a cologne with that smell and farms. Both grandparents had farms and liked the smell of the manure
  • Gasoline and a Mechanics Shop, the mixture of the oil/ grease/ fuel.
  • New books! And racing fuel! Love the drag strip!
  • The combination of beer breath and campfire smoke. I honestly wish someone could bottle it as cologne
  • The sulfur smell of a match right after its lit/blown out
  • The smell of family video...not sure why. Also the smell of menards.
  • I call it “hot grass” meaning the smell when your lawnmower has been stored in your hot garage or shed and mixed with the smell of gasoline. Heather Bidgood Puruleski knows what I’m talking about
  • Dirt. I worked in a greenhouse when my kids were little. In the middle of winter, you could smell the earth and it was wonderful.
  • Skunk towards the end of winter. Proof that spring really is coming. That and then sawdust. Reminds me of my dad
  • My doggos paws, they smell like corn chips, it's true
  • Recently cut wood. I love walking into wood shops.
  • The paper in books and some magazines. Newspapers too.
  • My daughters sweaty head (she is 9 months old)
  • Saw dust! It reminds me of my grandpa!
  • The smell of a fish tank/aquarium, like when you open the lid. Kind of an earthy smell. Reminds me of my childhood. My dad had lots of fish tanks set up in our basement.
  • My Grandparents root celler, when the built their house in the 60s they had the celler dug out to put their garden veggies in
  • When I was a kid we lived near a tar plant often times it smell sweet
  • Fresh sawn wood. Reminds me of my grandpa’s workshop.
  • The prep room (backroom) in the produce dept. at meijer reminds me of my dad who was a produce team leader many years ago when I was a child.
  • Puppy breath. Moss/wet dirt-I love hiking and the smell relaxes me.
  • My musty basement. It brings back memories of my grandparent's basement then all the memory's with them.
  • Acrylic- I work on orthodontic retainers and secretly love the smell.
  • Paint. My dad painted houses my whole childhood and into adulthood. Love that smell it makes me think of him
  • Sulfur or extinguished matches, candles after being put out
  • Fresh cut wood and saw dust, my father was a carpenter, memories.
  • Blown out match
  • Cigarettes when they are first lit... I don't smoke, just like the smell
  • The smell of the post office. Part cleaner, part mail?
  • Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut that has been cooking all day in the crockpot!!!

  • My favorite smell is vanilla. When we got married, my wife used Victoria Secret vanilla body powder. They don’t make it any more, it would make a great stocking stuffer!
  • Here is my weirdest smell, I LOVE the smell of cow shit!! Why you might ask, I'm not really sure. Alot of people think I am crazy but it could be worse, i could like the smell of skunk spray and no i don't. Have a great day!! Ann
