Sometimes it can be a random door slam or it could even be a big thing like a car accident. I think there are moments in our existence when the dookie is just scared out of us. Christine even said that she brought a ghost home after she went on a Ghost hunt. Scared the granny panties off of her apparently.

TEXT QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What’s the scariest thing that’s ever happened to you?

  • A bird flew at my car on the expressway.
  • I worked at a bank years ago and it was robbed when I was working.
  • Was almost a victim of sex trafficking years ago. Thankfully my intuition told me to leave the bus stop and go into the gas station. Always be aware of your surroundings!
  • I was shoveling last winter at night, and took a video when it was silent and I was the only one home. I heard a voice on the video when I replayed it, that said "do you want"
  • Knocked myself unconscious in a scooter incident. Kids were watching. Don't remember much but I was bummed my daughter wasn't recording
  • I was in the car when teenagers threw a brick over an overpass hitting my mom in the face.
  • Having my kid born at 29 weeks! Preemies are the strongest humans!
  • 5 heart attacks
  • When I was 16 I was walking my dog. I was almost home when a van stopped in the road in front of me. Five men got out and surrounded me, my dog starting barking. Luckily they were scared of my dog and got back in the van. If it wasn’t for my dog they would have kidnapped me.
  • Almost drowned at a kids birthday party when I was like 12 or 13.
  • I was driving north on the freeway and a tire flew over the middle wall, coming from the southbound side. It looked like it was going to go directly into my windshield and I was afraid I was going to get hit by it and die. Luckily, it bounced before reaching me, so it went right over my car.
  • Pulmonary embolism and DVT in both legs. That scared me way more than the head on collision with a semi that was the catalyst for the blood clots.
  • Having triplets born at 24 weeks gestation weighing 1 pound 7 ounces. In the 197 days of NICU, I witnessed both the highs of highs and lows of lows.
  • Taking care of a disabled man who died on my watch not once but several times. But the last time he didn't make it
  • A series of experiences with shadow people and a big dark being when I was a kid!
  • Almost died from bone infection in toe
  • I developed an infection after having a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy that went undetected for 2 months. I had it surgically removed and all was good for about 5-6 months when the infection resurfaced. I was hospitalized a second time but I am allergic to all of the antibiotics used to treat that specific bacteria.
  • Roll over car accident
  • When my girls were little they used to tell me about the other “girl” in the house. I told them no more Goosebumps movies. Until the day “she” talked in the house! I was the only one home.
  • Scariest thing to happen to me, I was babysitting in a newly built house, there was no window treatments. Long story short, someone broke into the basement while the kids were sleeping. I went down to investigate and there was a table saw that TURNED OUT while I was stand there staring at it. So it was a blade up in the air on full speed with a red spot light on it. As I was staring at it, it shut off. I ran back upstairs and grabbed the largest kitchen knife I could find and I stared at the basement stairs because it was the only access to the upstairs where all the kids were. I scared myself with how ready I was to use that knife to protect the kids. I was just hoping he didn’t bring a gun to my knife fight. He ended up leaving (as far as I know) and when I went back downstairs the slider was left wide open and the dog in a crate was going crazy. I’m just glad he didn’t decide to come upstairs.
  • As a kid i got stuck in a elevator and i was scared shitless lol
  • Sooo…. One night I woke up startled and thought I saw someone/thing sitting on my boyfriend's legs (hair standing up/so scared I didn’t want to get up to go to the bathroom). Blinked a couple times and seemed to go away. BUT the next day my boyfriend tells me how he felt his legs were SO HEAVY the night before while he was sleeping. So I told him what I thought I saw… I bought some sage candles after that night.
  • Having kids. You forever worry about them.
  • My husband died in an accident.
  • A young girl did a U turn in front of me which caused me to T-Bone her. She died from her injuries. I will never ever forget seeing her laying in the center of her car. I was also 8 months pregnant and had 3 kids in the car with me. Thankfully I didn’t have my baby then and all 3 of my kids were not seriously injured!
  • Had a left vertebral artery tear and had to be taken to the e-room by Aeromed. 10 day hospital stay.
  • I had my gallbladder removed. Went home the next day. Was in extreme pain that night but figured I was just being a wuss from the surgery. Got up in the middle of the night for the bathroom and collapsed to the floor. Rushed to the ER to find that I was still bleeding internally. Almost died.
  • I had an ectopic pregnancy rupture & was going in & out of consciousness as my husband rushed me to the emergency room. When I got there I had double digit BP & was rushed to surgery!!
  • Having to make all medical decisions for BOTH of my parents, who were hospitalized with Covid at the same time.
  • Being targeted for a shake down in Mexico.
  • 1. 2018 my newborn son stopped breathing and turned purple! he was fine, just choked on amniotic fluid. 2. 2021 my 2 hour old baby had to be rushed to the NICU after a team of nurses and doctors rushed in. She had respiratory stress disorder and spent 6 days in the NICU!
  • Having a pregnant woman driving in front of me have a grand mal seizure on the highway. You could see her convulsing, her 10 year old niece took the wheel from the backseat and they rolled a few times.
  • Watching my 2 pound baby start to turn blue and need blow by air to start breathing again.
  • When we were told that my son was born with a life threatening illness. He's 20 now and doing well.
  • My grandparents took my brother and I to see David Copperfield years ago when we were little kids. We parked on the side of a street. Before anyone got out of the car, I happened to look over and see a guys crouching down behind some bushes just on the edge of the sidewalk. I screamed and cried, Grandpa almost didn't believe me and was gonna get out of the car. But then Grandma saw the guy behind the bushes too. He was just waiting to do who knows what to all of us... Finally, Grandpa drove away and parked somewhere else, safe. I'll never forget it...so scary!
  • When the girl I used to nanny for woke up mid-nap crying and wheezing, it sounded like she swallowed part of her pacifier and it got stuck in her throat. I was freaking out. She was pretty young. Turns out it was just croup. But she was totally fine when I put her down for the nap. Had to call 911 and everything. I knew how to do CPR and the stuff but didn’t want to do something and fully lodge what I thought was in her throat.
  • When Vacationing in California I decided to go for a walk by myself, and found myself in a not so good neighborhood, 4 guys who were tucked in an alleyway started following me and calling after me. I slipped into a tobacco shop and waited for them to leave. The store clerk told me that girls like me have a tendency to disappear around there. I ran back to my hotel after I was sure they were gone and did not go anywhere by myself for the remainder of the trip.
  • In college, I lived alone in a dorm my sophomore year. I had to open at work so it was dark when I was supposed to wake up. Right before I was set to wake up, I saw a shadow of a man standing at the end of my bed looking down at me. I was in that half dream/half awake state and I kept telling myself to open my eyes but I was scared to. After a minute or so, I did and thankfully nothing was there.
  • When me and my sister were playing hide and seek when i was 8 she hid in a kirby box and pretended like she was dead
  • The birth of my 1st and 3rd son! Emergency C-sections!
  • Scariest Thing to happen to me is about 7 hours after having my daughter I almost died. I got what is called D.I.C. (nurses abbreviation is death is coming) long story short, I was bleeding into my stomach and they had to open me back up to figure out where the bleeding was coming from. I woke up with a tube up my nose and down my throat and my mom by my side. She wasn't able to be there for the birth of my daughter and got a call saying to get to the hospital. Doctor told me that I had an angel watching over me because 90% of women that get DIC eirher don't make it into surgery, or don't make it out. Scariest thing ever. Enough to put a chilly in your Willy
  • Last year in July ,backing out of my moms garage at 5:00 in the morning.Beeper goes off while backing up,nothing there! So I kept backing up, looked in the rearview mirror to a man standing by the mailbox!!! It was the back of my dead father. Work pants and all. Then he was gone . Scared the shit out of me. Told mom about it and she said" he's coming for me" I said" no I saw him, maybe it's me ( haha). She died the next month. True story
  • The scariest thing that ever happened to me is when I was 19, I worked 3 different jobs. Working 22 hours a day, one day after leaving work I was a mile and a half from my house when I fell asleep and rolled my car, went across two lanes of oncoming traffic, swiped a few trees and landed on railroad tracks. An in the middle of it rolling I woke up said OH SH*T and fell back to sleep. And I didn't wake up again until I was in the hospital! Luckily I walked away with only a scratch on my forehead. Also lucky because the seat belt came loose and that's what saved me! The car was not so lucky it was totaled.
  • Scariest thing to happen to me... I was 19 and got into a solo DUI accident in my dad's 65k BMW. Car caught on fire and my foot was trapped and I yanked it out tearing my leg up in the process just before it really really caught fire and blew up. I didn't learn and survived and overdose a year and a half later. 26 years old now and sober 4 years amennnnnnn
  • All my experiences with spiders in my car while driving. Nope nope nope.
  • As a kid had my head resting on the passenger side window and felt something push my head up and then boom we hit a deer and his hooves were on the exact spot my head was
  • The scariest thing that’s ever happened to me is being told my 22 year old daughter has cancer and then told she can’t have children. But we conquered cancer and have a 2 week old beautiful grandson. She is now 25. God is good!
  • Having a knife pulled on me and almost getting kidnapped on my way to school in junior high.
  • Came across a sacrificial pig in the woods while out mudding with friends. That was the closest I’ve ever been to a horror movie in my life. We all got goosebumps and left immediately.
  • I almost got hit by a train as a middle schooler, between the tracks it gets really icy in the winter, I was walking across and slipped. Never heard him coming and he sounded the first horn as I was sliding... I've never moved so fast.
  • I lived in a house where the lights would turn on and off and doors would open on their own in the middle of the night. I just said it was an old house with bad wiring and old locks. One day while I was making dinner the wooden spoons started flying out of a canister towards the window one at a time. Didn’t sleep well after that and moved as soon as I was able.
  • My family lived in and managed adult foster care homes my whole childhood. One day when I was probably 12 or 13 I prepared a bowl of ice cream. I cut up bananas, put whipped cream on it, and had two different kinds of syrup. It was a beautiful bowl of ice cream. I sat it down on the counter to pour a drink for myself and at the exact moment one of the residents walked by and grabbed a handful of that ice cream with their bare hands and shoved it in their mouth. I’d used the last of the ice cream toppings. It could not be remade at that time. It was a terrible day. I’m still recovering.

  • Woke up to a man cutting my screen open right above my bed. I popped up after he got the whole side and half of the bottom cut. I jumped up because the sound woke me up and I popped out of my sleep, saw him standing there and he took off running. Can't sleep with an open window to this day.
  • My house exploded while I was in it!
