Thursday morning around 10 am around 2,800 Consumers Energy customers on the southeast side of Grand Rapids lost their power, according to WOODTV.

The cause, a bird.  The bird flew into a substation around the 28th street area and caused some damage, which knocked out power.  Immediately a crew was assigned and started working to get power restored.

WOODTV says that as of 12:20 pm, crews were able to restore power to most customers and the original problem has been fixed.
